Interleukin-21 receptor (IL-21R) is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein within the class I cytokine receptor family, type 4 subfamily. Complex formation between IL-21R and the common gamma chain (gammac) is required for signalling. IL-21R is expressed mainly on B cells (highest on mature, activated, follicular and germinal center B cells), NK cells and activated T cells, but is also found on dendritic cells, alternatively activated macrophages, intestinal lamina propria fibroblasts and epithelial cells and keratinocytes. B cell IL-21R engagement induces Blimp1 (which mediates plasma cell differentiation) and is important for memory responses. IL-21R engagement on mouse NK cells enhances their cytotoxic activity and IFN-gamma production. IL-21R engagement on CD8+ T cells aids control of viral infection and tumour growth; IL-21R is also necessary for sufficient numbers of regulatory T cells to combat chronic inflammation. IL-21R expression is often upregulated in allergic skin inflammation, systemic lupus erythematosus and diffuse large B cell lymphoma (DLBCL).

Aipl1 Antibody: Aipl1 was initially identified as a protein implicated in Leber congenital amaurosis (LCA), an autosomal recessive disorder thought to be caused by the abnormal development of photoreceptors. Aipl1 is a tetratricopeptide repeat protein that is highly homologous to ARA9, a protein involved in the HSP90-mediated nuclear translocation and transactivation of the aryl hydrocarbon receptor. Aipl1 has also been found to function as part of a chaperone heterocomplex, interacting with Hsp90 and Hsp70. Aipl1 also associates with the cell cycle regulator NUB1. It is thought that Aipl1 cooperates with Hsp70 but not Hsp90 to suppress the formation of NUB1 inclusions, and these interactions are necessary in the normal photoreceptor maturation, as mutations that lead to LCA also compromise the interactions with the Hsp chaperones. At least three isoforms of Aipl1 are known to exist.

The RPA-T4 monoclonal antibody specifically binds to the CD4 receptor for the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). CD4 is a 59 kDa single-chain transmembrane glycoprotein that expressed on the surface of most of the thymocytes, T-helper cells, and in low levels on monocytes and macrophages. CD4 is a co-receptor in the antigen-induced T cell activation, together with the MHC class II. The RPA-T4 antibody is capable of blocking HIV binding and inhibiting syncytium formation, by binding to the D1 domain of the CD4 antigen. The OKT4 and the RPA-T4 monoclonal antibodies recognize different epitopes of CD4 and they do not exhibit cross-block binding.

ANGPTL4 mainly expressed in endothelial cells (hypoxia-induced). Regulates angiogenesis and modulates tumorgenesis and directly regulates lipid, glucose, and energy metabolism. Inhibits proliferation, migration, and tubule formation of endothelial cells and reduces vascular leakage. ANGPTL4 is a protein consisting of an N-terminal coiled-coil domain and a C-terminal fibrinogen-like domain (FLD). Both domains have distinct biological functions. The coiled-coil domain is responsible for the inhibitory effects on lipoprotein lipase (LPL) converting the active form of LPL into an inactive form, and the FLD domain mediates its antiangiogenic functions. The coiled coil and the FLD domains are separated by a short linker that can be cleaved after secretion. ANGPTL4 appears on the cell surface as the full-length form, where it can be released by heparin treatment. ANGPTL4 protein is then proteolytically cleaved by proprotein convertases (PCs), including furin, PC5/6, paired basic amino acid-cleaving enzyme 4, and PC7.

Fibroblast growth factor receptor 4(FGFR4) is also known as CD334, JTK2, hydroxyaryl-protein kinase, TKF, protein-tyrosine kinase . The FGFR4 gene provides instructions for making a protein called fibroblast growth factor receptor 4. This protein is part of a family of fibroblast growth factor receptors that share similar structures and functions. These receptor proteins play a role in important processes such as cell division, regulating cell growth and maturation, formation of blood vessels, wound healing, and embryo development.The FGFR4 protein interacts with specific growth factors to conduct signals from the environment outside the cell to the nucleus. The nucleus responds to these signals by switching on or off appropriate genes that help the cell adjust to changes in the environment. In response, the cell might divide, move, or mature to take on specialized functions. Although specific functions of FGFR4 remain unclear, studies indicate that the gene is involved in muscle development and the maturation of bone cells in the skull. The FGFR4 gene may also play a role in the development and maintenance of specialized cells (called foveal cones) in the light-sensitive layer (the retina) at the back of the eye.
