APRIL is a cytokine that belongs to the TNF superfamily and binds to TACI and BCMA. It is implicated in the regulation of tumour cell growth, is involved in monocyte/macrophage-mediated immunological processes and functions as an important survival factor for plasma blasts and bone marrow plasma cells. MultimericAPRIL™ is a high activity construct in which two trimeric APRIL ligands are artificially linked via the collagen domain of ACRP30. This construct very effectively stimulates proliferation B cell. A basic amino acid sequence (QKQKKQ) close to the NH2 terminus of APRIL is required for binding to negatively charged sulphated glycosaminoglycan side chains of proteoglycans. Proteoglycans mediate binding of APRIL to tumour cells as well as primary lymphoid cells.

beta-1-fetoprotein. beta-fetoprotein is a major plasma protein produced by the yolk sac and the liver during fetal life. beta-fetoprotein expression in adults is often associated with hepatoma or teratoma. However, hereditary persistance of beta-fetoprotein may also be found in individuals with no obvious pathology. The protein is thought to be the fetal counterpart of serum albumin, and the beta-fetoprotein and albumin genes are present in tandem in the same transcriptional orientation on chromosome 4. beta-fetoprotein is found in monomeric as well as dimeric and trimeric forms, and binds copper, nickel, fatty acids and bilirubin. The level of beta-fetoprotein in amniotic fluid is used to measure renal loss of protein to screen for spina bifida and anencephaly.

TMEM38A Antibody: TMEM38A and TMEM38B are two recently identified trimeric intracellular cation (TRIC) channel subtypes. TMEM38A is preferentially expressed in excitable tissues such as striated muscle and brain and localizes to the sarcoplasmic reticulum (SR) in muscle tissues. Mice deficient in both TMEM38A and TMEM38B suffer embryonic cardiac failure; the cardiac myocytes display severe dysfunction in SR Ca2+ handling, weakened Ca2+ release, and reduced K+ permeability indicating that the TRIC cation channels are likely to act as counter-ion channels that function in synchronization with Ca2+ release from intracellular stores. Other experiments have shown that TMEM38A and TMEM38B can act with junctophilin proteins to support efficient ryanodine receptor-mediated Ca2+ release in muscle cells.

C1QTNF1 is a secreted protein，contains 1 C1q domain and 1 collagen-like domain. C1qTNF proteins constitute a highly conserved family of Acrp30/Adiponectin paralogs that share a modular organization comprising an N-terminal signal peptide, a short variable region, a collagenous domain and a C-terminal globular domain. C1qTNF proteins are predicted to have trimeric structures that assemble into hexameric and higher order molecular forms. C1QTNF1 is a novel adipokine, providing a significant framework to further address the physiological functions and mechanisms of the action of this family of secreted glycoproteins in normal and disease states. C1QTNF1 increases the production of aldosterone. C1QTNF1 is vastly expressed in obese subjects as well as up-regulated in hypertensive patients, C1QTNF1 is identified molecular link between obesity and hypertension. C1QTNF1 expression may be associated with a low-grade chronic inflammation status in adipose tissues.

Collagen alpha-1(VIII) chain, also known as endothelial collagen, C3orf7 and COL8A1, can be cleaved into vastatin chain. COL8A1 is a short chain collagen and a major component of the basement membrane of the corneal endothelium. COL8A1 forms homotrimers, or heterotrimers in association with alpha 2(VIII) type collagens. Four homotrimers can form a tetrhedron stabilized by central interacting C-terminal NC1 trimers. COL8A1 contains one C1q domain and is primarily expressed in the subendothelium of large blood vessels. The expression level can be up-regulated during vascular injury, in atherosclerosis and in diabetes. COL8A1 may have a role in the maintenance of vessel wall integrity and structure, in particular in atherogenesis.
