Cluster of Differentiation 74 (CD74) is also known as HLA class II histocompatibility antigen gamma chain (HLADG), DHLAG, Ia-GAMMA, invariant chain (Abbreviated Ii). CD74 / HLADG is a polypeptide involved in the formation and transport of MHC class II protein. The cell surface form of the invariant chain is known as CD74. CD74 is upregulated in several cancers and is also expressed by non-immune cells during inflammation. CD74 plays a critical role in MHC class II antigen processing by stabilizing peptide-free class II alpha / beta heterodimers in a complex soon after their synthesis and directing transport of the complex from the endoplasmic reticulum to the endosomal / lysosomal system where the antigen processing and binding of antigenic peptides to MHC class II takes place. CD74 / DHLAG also serves as cell surface receptor for the cytokine MIF.

Twenty human keratins are resolved with two-dimensional gel electrophoresis into acidic (pI 6.0) subfamilies. This antibody cocktail recognizes acidic (Type I or LMW) and basic (Type II or HMW) cytokeratins, which include CK1, CK3, CK4, CK5, CK6, CK8, CK10, CK14, CK15, CK16, and CK19. Many studies have shown the usefulness of keratins as markers in cancer research and tumor diagnosis. KRTL/KRTH is a broad spectrum anti pan-cytokeratin antibody cocktail, which differentiates epithelial tumors from non-epithelial tumors e.g. squamous vs. adenocarcinoma of the lung, liver carcinoma, breast cancer, and esophageal cancer. It has been used to characterize the source of various neoplasms and to study the distribution of cytokeratin containing cells in epithelia during normal development and during the development of epithelial neoplasms. This antibody stains cytokeratins present in normal and abnormal human tissues and has shown high sensitivity in the recognition of epithelial cells and carcinomas.

Cytokeratin 10 is a heterotetramer of two type I and two type II keratins. Cytokeratin 10 is generally associated with keratin 1. It is seen in all suprabasal cell layers including stratum corneum. A number of alleles are known that mainly differ in the Gly-rich region (positions 490-560). Defects in cytokeratin 10 are a cause of epidermolytic hyperkeratosis (EHK), also known as bullous congenital ichthyosiform erythroderma (BCIE) or bullous erythroderma ichthyosiformis congenita of Brocq. EHK is an hereditary skin disorder characterised by blistering and a marked thickening of the stratum corneum. At birth, affected individuals usually present with redness, blisters and superficial erosions due to cytolysis. Within a few weeks, the erythroderma and blister formation diminish and hyperkeratoses develop. Transmission is autosomal dominant, but most cases are sporadic. Defects in cytokeratin 10 are also a cause of annular epidermolytic ichthyosis (AEI), also known as cyclic ichthyosis with epidermolytic hyperkeratosis. AEI resembles clinical and histologic features of both epidermolytic hyperkeratosis and ichthyosis bullosa of Siemens.

Playing a key role in the development of the limb bud, Radical Fringe transfers a beta-D-GlcNAc residue from UDP-D-GlcNAc to the fucose residue of a fucosylated protein acceptor. Lunatic Fringe is required for normal somite segmentation and patterning and is thought to be a target of the molecular clock. The cadherins are a family of Ca2+-dependent adhesion molecules that function to mediate cell-cell binding events that are critical to the maintenance of cell structure and morphogenesis. EY-cadherin, also known as CDH18 (cadherin 18), CDH14 (cadherin 14), CDH24 or CDH14L, is a 790 amino acid single-pass type I membrane protein that contains five cadherin domains. One of several members of the cadherin superfamily, EY-cadherin functions as a type II classical cadherin that is expressed specifically in the central nervous system (CNS), where it plays a role in cell-cell binding events. Specifically, EY-cadherin is thought to be involved in axon guidance and outgrowth, as well as synaptic adhesion within the CNS. EY-cadherin contains a highly conserved C-terminal domain characteristic of all cadherins, but lacks the HAV cell adhesion sequence that is specific to type I cadherins.
