The HI30 antibody reacts with human CD45, one of the most abundant hematopoietic markers and one that is expressed on all leukocytes (the Leukocyte Common Antigen, LCA). CD45 is a protein tyrosine phosphatase existing in several isoforms, each being generated and expressed in cell-specific patterns. With its broad cell distribution, CD45 is critical for many leukocyte functions, regulating signal transduction and cell activation associated with the T cell receptor, B cell receptor, and IL-2 receptor. Other forms of CD45, with restricted cellular expression, include CD45R (B220), CD45RA, CD45RB, CD45RO and others.

HES7 is a 225 amino acid transcriptional repressor protein. localised to the nucleus, HES7 represses transcription of N box- and E box-containing promoters. HES7, along with family member HES1, is thought to cooperatively regulate somite formation in the presomitic mesoderm. HES7 may also be essential for coordinated somite segmentation by acting as a segmentation clock. HES7 contains one basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) domain and one orange domain. Mutations in HES7 have been found to cause spondylocostal dysostosis, an autosomal recessive disorder characterised by deformities of the chest and spine.

It also participates in the ubiquitin-mediated degradation of b-catenin. Kindlin-3 is a 667 amino acid protein that localizes to both the cell membrane and the cytoplasm and contains one PH domain and one FERM domain. Expressed at high levels in lymph node tissue and at lower levels in spleen, thymus, stomach, placenta, lung, testis and small intestine, Kindlin-3 is thought to be involved in cell adhesion events and may play a role in apoptosis. Kindlin-3 is overexpressed in B-cell malignancies, suggesting that, via its ability to affect cell adhesion, Kindlin-3 may participate in tumor transformation and metastasis. Two isforms of Kindlin-3, designated short and long, exist due to alternative splicing events.

C Peptide is part of the molecule of Proinsulin, that consists of three parts: C Peptide and two long strands of amino acids (called the alpha and beta chains) that later become linked together to form the insulin molecule. From every molecule of proinsulin, one molecule of insulin plus one molecule of C Peptide are produced. C peptide is released into the blood stream in equal amounts to insulin. A test of C peptide levels will show how much insulin the body is making. Insulin decreases blood glucose concentration. It increases cell permeability to monosaccharides, amino acids and fatty acids. It accelerates glycolysis, the pentose phosphate cycle, and glycogen synthesis in liver.
