SPG15 Antibody: Hereditary spastic paraplegias (HSPs) are genetically and phenotypically heterogeneous disorders. Spastic paraplegia with thinning of the corpus callosum (ARHSP-TCC) is a relatively frequent form of complicated hereditary spastic paraplegia in which mental retardation and muscle stiffness at onset are followed by slowly progressive paraparesis and cognitive deterioration. SPG15 is the second gene known to be responsible for ARHSP-TCC in the Italian population. Mutations in this gene are associated with autosomal recessive spastic paraplegia-15. SPG15 encodes a protein containing a FYVE zinc finger binding domain which is thought to target these proteins to membrane lipids through interaction with phospholipids in the membrane. SPG15 mRNA is widely distributed in human tissues, as well as in rat embryos, suggesting a possible role for this protein during embryonic development. SPG15 co-localizes partially with endoplasmic reticulum and endosome markers, suggesting a role in intracellular trafficking. Multiple isoforms of SPG15 are known to exist.

CMV (UL44) peptide pool is a lyophilised mixture of 106 peptides from DNA polymerase processivity factor UL44 of human cytomegalovirus (CMV; strain AD169), and consists of 15-mer peptides with 11-amino-acid overlaps that cover amino acids 1 to 433 on UL44. UL44 contains a nuclear localization signal (Alvisi <i>et al.</i>) and may bind DNA directly, or form a C clamp partially surrounding it, similar to proliferation cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) (Appleton <i>et al.</i>). UL44 has also been found to interact with viral (Kim and Ahn) and host (Strang <i>et al.</i>) proteins that contribute to viral DNA replication and efficient viral growth. Viral peptide pools are useful for a broad range of applications, including vaccine development, immunological research, and diagnostic assay development.

Also known as immediate-early protein IE1, latency-associated transcripts of HHV6 may function as a source of IE1 during viral reactivation (Kondo <i>et al.</i>). Viral peptide pools are useful for a broad range of applications, including vaccine development, immunological research, and diagnostic assay development.

Recognises an oncofetal antigen of 220 kDa, identified as a tumor-associated glycoprotein (TAG-72) with properties of a mucin. This mAb defines the mucin-carried sialylated-Tn epitope. TAG-72 is usually expressed by adenocarcinomas, but is negative in mesotheliomas. Studies have reported that this antibody has 80% sensitivity and 93% specificity for pulmonary adenocarcinoma. Therefore, TAG-72 is a useful marker to distinguish between mesothelioma and adenocarcinoma. However, false positive reactions can occur so results must be interpreted with the utmost caution. This antibody may be useful in the differentiation of non-small cell carcinomas from small cell carcinomas of the lung. The combined use of anti-TAG-72 and anti-GCDFP-15 is valuable in the diagnosis of apocrine carcinoma.

Tris has been useful as buffers in a wide variety of biological systems. Uses include pH control in vitro and in vivo for body fluids and in buffering systems for electrophoresis applications. Tris has been used as a starting material for polymers, oxazolones (with carboxylic acids) and oxazolidines (with aldehydes). Tris does not precipitate calcium salts and is of value in maintaining solubility of manganese salts. It can be used for the direct standardization of a strong acid solution; the equivalence point can be determined either potentiometrically or by use of a suitable indicator such as 3-(4-Dimethylamino-1-naphthylazo)-4-methoxybenzenesulfonic acid. It is an auxiliary material in pharmaceutical science.

ARL15 Antibody: ADP-ribosylation factors (ARFs) are highly conserved guanine nucleotide binding proteins that enhance the ADP-ribosyltransferase activity of cholera toxin. ARFs are important in eukaryotic vesicular trafficking pathways and they play an essential role in the activation of phospholipase D (PC-PLD). ARL15 (ADP-ribosylation factor-like 15), is a member of the ARF family of the Ras superfamily of small GTPases that are known to be involved in multiple regulatory pathways altered in human carcinogenesis. Other members of this protein family include ARL11, thought to be a tumor suppressor and may play a role in the regulation of apoptosis, ARL2 which plays an important role in microtubule dynamics and cell cycle progression, and ARL4, which may play a role in neurogenesis during embryonic development. The gene encoding ARL15 maps to chromosome 5p15 in humans. At least three isoforms of ARL15 are known to exist.
