Hemostasis following tissue injury involves the deployment of essential plasma procoagulants (Prothrombin and Factors X, IX, V and VIII), which are involved in a blood coagulation cascade that leads to the formation of insoluble Fibrin clots and the promotion of platelet aggregation. Coagulation Factor X (Stuart Prower factor, FX, F10) is a vitamin K-dependent, single chain serine protease that is synthesized in the liver and circulates as an inactive precursor. The mature form of Factor X (Factor X A) is generated by Factor IX A- or Factor VII A-mediated cleavage at the tripeptide sequence, Arg-Lys-Arg, to yield a disulfide linked dimer. Together with the cofactor Factor V A and Ca2+ on the surface of platelets or endothelial cells, Factor X A coordinates as part of the prothrombinase complex, which mediates proteolysis of Prothrombin into active Thrombin. Mutations at the Factor X locus resulting in Factor X deficiencies can contribute to hemorrhagic diathesis.

Centrosomes are dynamic organelles involved in many aspects of cell function and growth. Centrosomes act as microtubule organizing centers, and provide a site for concerted regulation of cell cycle progression. Duplication of centrosomes occurs once during each cell cycle and requires proper mitotic spindle formation and chromosome segregation. Defects in centrosome duplication or function are linked to many human diseases, including various forms of cancer. The centrosome and spindle pole-associated protein 1 (CSPP1) interacts with centrosomes and microtubules and may play a role in the regulation of G(1)/S-phase progression and spindle assembly. Two isoforms of CSPP1 exist as a result of alternative splicing events. Isoform 1 expression increases throughout the cell cycle and peaks in G2/M phase, whereas isoform 2 expression is highest in G1 phase and decreases thereafter.

CatSpers (cation channel, sperm associated proteins) are ion transport proteins located on the surface of sperm cells in the principal piece of the sperm tail. CatSpers are vital to sperm motility, fertilization and cAMP-mediated calcium influx in sperm. There are four CatSper proteins in mammalian sperm, namely CatSper (or CatSper1), CatSper2, CatSper3 and CatSper4. CatSper proteins contain a single, six-transmembrane-spanning segment and exhibit the voltage-dependent Ca2+ channel four-repeat structure. CatSper proteins are believed to assemble into a heterotetrameric complex, forming an alkalinization-activated Ca2+-selective channel. Mutations in any of the genes encoding CatSper family proteins can result in male infertility. CatSper3 plays an important role in the hyperactivated motility of sperm cells, a process that is required in the preparation of sperm for fertilization.

Transgenic MUC1 has been shown to associate with all four cebB receptors and localize with erbB1 (EGFR) in lactating glands. The MUC1 gene contains seven exons and produces several different alternatively spliced variants. The major expressed form of MUC1 uses all seven exons and is a type 1 transmembrane protein with a large extracellular tandem repeat domain. The tandem repeat domain is highly O glycosylated and alterations in glycosylation have been shown in epithelial cancer cells.

This MAb recognizes an epitope within the 74-182 C-terminal sequence (11kD peptide fragment) of human serum Cellular Retinol Binding Protein 1 (CRBP 1), a single-chain glycoprotein belonging to the superfamily of hydrophobic molecule transporter proteins, which is responsible for transport of retinol (vitamin A1) from the liver to peripheral target tissues, like the eye, where it mediates the cellular uptake. CRBP 1 is synthesized by hepatic parenchymal cells where it becomes bound to its ligand retinol and is then released into the circulation, where it binds further to the protein transthyretin, to form a transporting complex, which is big enough not to be lost by filtration through the kidney glomeruli. It is detected in nearly all tissues with higher expression in adult ovary, pancreas, pituitary gland, adrenal gland, and fetal liver.

The heredity chronic granulomatous disease (CGF) has been linked to mutations in p47-phox and p67-phox. The cytosolic proteins p47-phox and p67-phox, also designated neutrophil cytosol factor (NCF)1 and NCF2, respectively, are required for activation of the superoxide-producing NADPH oxidase in neutrophils and other phagocytic cells. During activation of the NADPH oxidase, p47-phox and p67-phox migrate to the plasma membrane where they associate with cytochrome b558 and the small G protein Rac to form the functional enzyme complex. Both p47-phox and p67-phox contain two Src homology 3 (SH3) domains. The C-terminal SH3 domain of p67-phox has been shown to interact with the proline-rich domain of p47-phox, suggesting that p47-phox may faciliate the transport of p67-phox to the membrane.
