Sulfamethazine is an antibiotic used to clinically treat bronchitis, prostatitis and urinary tract infections. It is used in disposition and depletion kinetic studies. It is used to develop detection techniques for quantification in fluids such as cows’ milk, honey and swine urine.
Sulfamethazine is an antimicrobial sulfur drug that blocks the synthesis of dihydrofolic acid by inhibiting the enzyme dihydropteroate synthase. Sulfamethazine is a competitive inhibitor of bacterial para-aminobenzoic acid (PABA), which is required for bacterial synthesis of folic acid. It induces CYP3A4 expression and is acetylated by N-acetyltransferase. It exhibits sex dependent pharmacokinetics, metabolized by the male specific isoform CYP2C11. Sulfamethazine is bacteriostatic.

PIPES is a zwitterionic N-substituted aminosulfonic acid "Good" buffer.
PIPES is used to buffer glutaraldehyde fixative solutions when fixing plant and/or animal tissue samples. This will help prevent the loss of lipids. It is also used to buffer glutaraldehyde and formaldehyde when fixing fungal zoospores for fluorescence microscopy and electron microscopy. PIPES tends to give optimal results. Buffers can be made by adding a solution of base to PIPES free acid, titrating to the appropriate pH.

3- (4,5-Dimethyl-2-thiazolyl-2)-2,5-diphenyl-tetrazolium bromide is used as a colorimetric metabolic activity indicator in cell viability assays. Thiazolyl Blue Tetrazolium Blue (MTT) is a dye used in measurement of cell proliferation. MTT produces a yellowish solution that is converted to dark blue, water-insoluble MTT formazan by mitochondrial dehydrogenases of living cells. The blue crystals are solubilized with acidified isopropanol and the intensity is measured colorimetrically at 570 nm. MTT has been used as a histochemical/cytochemical reagent and for the detection of NAD. ADP-linked enzyme systems in tissue cannot be detected with MTT, due to binding of the cation by the cyanide trap used. MTT is rapidly reduced to the formazan, which chelates with nickel, copper, and cobalt; the cobalt chelate has been used in oxidative systems.

JMJD2A Antibody: Members of the Jumonji domain 2 (JMJD2) family contain a JmjN domain, a JmjC domain, a JD2H domain, two TUDOR domains, and two PHD-type zinc fingers. The first member of this group, JMJD2A, is widely expressed in human tissues and cell lines and functions as a trimethylation-specific demethylase, converting specific trimethylated histone residues to the dimethylated form, and as a transcriptional repressor. JMJD2A can also form a complex with the androgen receptor (AR), a transcription factor that is pivotal for the development of prostate cancer. Overexpression of JMJD2A stimulates AR function and this stimulation is dependent on JMJD2A catalytic activity, suggesting that JMJD2A might be a critical protein with roles in cell proliferation and oncogenesis.

JMJD1A Antibody: The jumonji domain containing 1A protein (JMJD1A) was originally discovered as a testes specific gene, but has been found to be expressed in numerous tissues. JMJD1A is a histone demethylase and specifically demethylates mono- and dimethyl-H3K9. It has also been found to be a novel interaction partner with ER71, a transcription factor expressed in the testes of adult mice and during embryogenesis. JMJD1A is also a downstream gene of STAT3, a protein that has been found to be important in the maintenance of mouse embryonic stem (mES) cells, and decreased JMJD1A expression correlated with the differentiation of cultured mES cells following the removal of the cytokine LIF. These findings suggest that JMJD1A might be a critical signaling molecule underlying the maintenance of pluripotency in embryonic stem cells. At least two isoforms of JMJD1A are known to exist.
