SUMO proteins are synthesised as precursors that undergo processing before conjugation to target proteins. It interacts synergically with other cytokines, such as TNF-alpha, to inhibit proliferation of normal and transformed cells. LASS5 Antibody: The LASS (longevity assurance homolog) family members represent a subgroup of the homeobox gene family and are highly conserved from yeasts to mammals. Six members of this family of proteins have been characterized (LASS1-6) and all are involved in ceramide synthesis during cell growth regulation and cancer differentiation. LASS5, also called Trh4, is a 392 amino acid endoplasmic reticulum, multi-pass membrane protein. Functioning as a dihydro-ceramide synthase, LASS5 is involved in the production of sphingolipids containing mainly one fatty acid donor (N-linked palmitoyl-ceramide) in a fumonisin B1-independent manner. It uses palmitoyl-CoA as an acyl donor and is involved in the synthesis of C14, C16 and C18-ceramide. LASS5 is the most abundantly expressed and predominant ceramide synthase isoform in lung epithelia. Recent studies show that LASS5 partially correct growth and apoptosis.

RUSC1 Antibody: RUSC1, also known as NESCA, shares with the related protein RUSC2 a common domain structure of RUN, leucine zipper and SH3 domain in addition to over 30% amino acid identity. RUSC1 is an adapter protein that can bind to the TrkA receptor and is necessary in the NGF-induced neurite growth of PC12 cells. RUSC1 has also been shown to interact with I kappa B kinase- (IKK-) gamma, the regulatory subunit of the IKK complex that is required for NF-kappa B activation in many signaling pathways such as TNF-R or the TLR pathways. RUSC1 can also bind to the E3 ubiquitin ligase TRAF6, which then catalyzes RUSC1 polyubiquitination. Since overexpression of RUSC1 strongly inhibits TRAF6-mediated polyubiquitination of IKK-gamma, RUSC1 may be a link in the IKK-gamma-mediated NF-kappa B activation pathway.
