Glycogen synthase kinase-3 (GSK 3) is a proline-directed serine-threonine kinase that was initially identified as a phosphorylating and inactivating glycogen synthase. Two isoforms, alpha (GSK 3A) and beta, show a high degree of amino acid homology. GSK 3B is involved in energy metabolism, neuronal cell development, and body pattern formation. GSK 3B participates in the Wnt signaling pathway and has been implicated in the hormonal control of several regulatory proteins including glycogen synthase, MYB and the transcription factor JUN. GSK 3B phosphorylates JUN at sites proximal to its DNA-binding domain, thereby reducing its affinity for DNA.

AIFM3 Antibody: Apoptosis, also known as programmed cell death, plays major roles in development and normal tissue turnover in addition to tumor formation. Recently a protein similar to the apoptosis-inducing factor (AIF) was cloned and designated AIFL (also known as AIFM3). AIFM3 is expressed ubiquitously and is predominantly localized to the inner membranes of mitochondria. Unlike AIF, AIFM3 does not translocate to the nucleus upon induction of apoptosis. However, overexpression of AIFM3, like AIF, induced cytochrome c release from the mitochondria, cleavage of caspase 3, and ultimately apoptosis, indicating AIFM3 induces apoptosis through caspase activation. Multiple isoforms of AIFM3 are known to exist.

Die Basis des Chromocult® <i>Enterobacter sakazakii</i> Agars ermöglicht ein gutes Wachstum und eine starke Farbausprägung der <i>E. sakazakii</i>-Kolonien. Durch den Zusatz von Inhibitoren und einer Inkubationstemperatur von 44 °C wird das Wachstum der Mehrheit der grampositiven und gramnegativen Begleitflora reduziert. <i>E. sakazakii</i> ist ß-D-Glucosidase-positiv und wächst auf diesem Nährmedium in Form von blaugrünen Kolonien. Inkubation: 24 ±2 Stunden bei 44 ±1 °C. Die Inkubationstemperatur hat einen großen Einfluss auf die Empfindlichkeit und Selektivität dieser Methode. Höhere Temperaturen als 45 °C hemmen das Wachstum von E. sakazakii. Niedrigere Temperaturen als 43 °C reduzieren die Hemmung der Begleitbakterien.

Interleukin-17 is a potent pro-inflammatory cytokine produced by activated memory T cells. There are at least six members of the IL-17 family in humans and in mice. As IL-17 shares properties with IL-1 and TNF-alpha, it may induce joint inflammation and bone and cartilage destruction. This cytokine is found in synovial fluids of patients with rheumatoid arthritis, and produced by rheumatoid arthritis synovium. It increases IL-6 production, induces collagen degradation and decreases collagen synthesis by synovium and cartilage and proteoglycan synthesis in cartilage. IL-17 is also able to increase bone destruction and reduce its formation. Blocking of interleukin-17 with specific inhibitors provides a protective inhibition of cartilage and bone degradation.
