TMEM16A Antibody: Calcium-activated chloride channels (CaCC) are present in many cell types and mediate physiological functions such as epithelial secretion, sensory signal transduction, and smooth muscle contraction. Subunits of these CaCC's include the transmembrane proteins TMEM16A and TMEM16B. TMEM16A is expressed in epithelial cells of the kidney and lung, pancreas, and sensory neurons and its mRNA is seen in foregut, airway epithelia, and tracheal smooth muscle; mice lacking TMEM16A fail to survive past ten days and show aerophagia and little weight gain. TMEM16A is also overexpressed or amplified in multiple cancers associated with poor survival such as oral cancers and gastrointestinal stromal tumors, suggesting the development of CaCC modulators may be a viable therapeutic strategy.

Goat IgG fraction to beta-Galactosidase is used in enzyme Immunoassays, fluorescein Immunoassays, blots, cell or tissue immunostaining. Gives sharp precipitation lines in IEP and ID techniques.
The antibody is produced by hyperimmunizing goats with the enzyme beta-galactosidase from Escherichia coli. The IgG fraction is prepared by delipidation, ammonium sulfate fractionation, and anion exchange chromatography, and is further purified by solid-phase absorption to remove antibodies to non-beta-galactosidase E. coli proteins. The product is dialyzed into 0.02M sodium phosphate, 0.14M sodium chloride, pH 7.3, adjusted to standard titer, filtered through a 0.22 μm filter, and vialed. No preservative is added.

PDZK1 is a scaffold protein that connects plasma membrane proteins and regulatory components, regulating their surface expression in epithelial cells apical domains. It may be involved in the coordination of a diverse range of regulatory processes for ion transport and second messenger cascades. In complex with SLC9A3R1, it may cluster proteins that are functionally dependent in a mutual fashion and modulate the trafficking and the activity of the associated membrane proteins. PDZK1 may play a role in the cellular mechanisms associated with multidrug resistance through its interaction with ABCC2 and PDZK1IP1. PDZK1 may potentiate the CFTR chloride channel activity. It may function to connect SCARB1 with the cellular machineries for intracellular cholesterol transport and/or metabolism. PDZK1 may be involved in the regulation of proximal tubular Na+-dependent inorganic phosphate cotransport therefore playing an important role in tubule function.

Gamma-amGlycine is an important inhibitory transmitter in the brainstem and spinal cord. Glycine receptors are members of the ligand-gated ion channel family (LGICs) that mediate rapid chemical neurotransmission. The binding of glycine to its receptor produces a large increase in chloride conductance, which causes membrane hyperpolarization. Glycine receptors are anchored at inhibitory chemical synapses by a cytoplasmic protein, gephyrin. Gene targeting in mice showed that gephyrin is required for synaptic clustering of glycine receptors in spinal cord. The glycine receptor has been used to great advantage in the identification of the binding sites for alcohol on the LGIC family of proteins. These receptors have also been extremely useful in studies of synaptic clustering of receptors. During postnatal motoneuron development, the glycine receptor alpha subunit changes from alpha2 (fetal) to alpha1 (adult).
