GPCR2037 is a G protein-coupled receptor that undergoes weak activation by Galanin and is most abundant in the central nervous system (CNS), where it appears to be critical for development. During embryonal development the expression of GPCR2037 is widespread in the nervous system (dorsal thalamus, striatum, locus coeruleus and hindbrain nuclei). GPCR2037 in the CNS of 7- and 15-day-old mouse embryos can localize to the habenular complex. Low levels of GPCR2037 are detectable in testis, liver, kidney and stomach. In addition to GPCR2037, Galanin mediates its effects through receptor subtypes GALR1, 2 and 3. Galanin ligand exerts anxiolytic actions via GALR receptors under conditions of high stress. Galanin coexists with norepinephrine and serotonin in neural systems that mediate emotion.

The Aqua-Soft system provides a continual supply of soft water and is suitable for water with a hardness up to 71° dH. It operates as a level controlled two-tank system, consisting of two cartridges with ion exchange resins and a salt reservoir. The resins are enriched with sodium ions. The hard water flows over the resins in the first cartridge, where calcium and magnesium ions are exchanged for sodium ions. At this time, no water is flowing through the second cartridge. When one cartridge is exhausted, the water is routed to the second cartridge by means of a hardness level selector corresponding to the hardness of the local water, which is inserted by customer service when the device is used for the first time. At the same time, the regeneration of the resins from the exhausted container is activated. For this treatment, brine (NaCl) is drawn from the salt reservoir. The reservoir must be replenished regularly with coarse salt pellets. Fill quantity approx. 25 kg.

Bungarotoxins are venom toxins from the many-banded krait (<i>Bungarus Multicinctus</i>), which inhibit neurotransmission at the neuromuscular junction. Alpha-bungarotoxin is a potent inhibitor for the motor endplate acetylcholine receptor (Kd = 1 nM to 1 pM). Beta-bungarotoxin contains a small subunit that blocks voltage-gated K+ channels on the presynaptic membranes, and a large subunit that has phospholipase A2 activity. Fluorescent conjugates of alpha-bungarotoxin can be used to label acetylcholine receptors in skeletal muscle endplates.

Neuromedin U is a neuropeptide with high activity on smooth muscle. It is widely expressed in gastrointestinal systems and central nervous system (CNS). Peripheral activities of neuromedin U include smooth muscle stimulation, ion transport alterations in the gut and the regulation of local blood flow and adrenocortical function. Neuromedin U receptors 1 and 2 (NMUR1 and NMUR2) are multi-pass membrane proteins that belong to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family of proteins. Both NMUR1 and NMUR2 act as receptors for the neuromedin U neuropeptide. NMUR1 is detected in peripheral organs, particularly in urogenital and gastrointestinal systems, with highest levels in testis. It’s expression in CNS is low, but the protein has been detected in cerebellum, hippocampus, dorsal root ganglia and spinal cord. NMUR2 is predominantly detected in central nervous system with highest levels detected in medulla oblongata, spinal cord and thalamus. It may also be detected in testis but has low levels of expression in peripheral tissues.
