A disulphide-linked heterodimer consisting of mb-1 (or CD79a) and B29 (or CD79b) polypeptides, CD79 is non-covalently associated with membrane-bound immunoglobulins on B cells. This complex of mb-1 and B29 polypeptides and immunoglobulin constitute the B cell Ag receptor. CD79a first appears at pre B cell stage, early in maturation, and persists until the plasma cell stage where it is found as an intracellular component. CD79a is found in the majority of acute leukemias of precursor B cell type, in B cell lines, B cell lymphomas, and in some myelomas. It is not present in myeloid or T cell lines. Anti-CD79a is generally used to complement anti-CD20 especially for mature B-cell lymphomas after treatment with RituximAb (anti-CD20). This antibody will stain many of the same lymphomas as anti-CD20, but also is more likely to stain B-lymphoblastic lymphoma/leukemia than is anti-CD20. Anti-CD79a also stains more cases of plasma cell myeloma and occasionally some types of endothelial cells as well.

Glial Cell Line-Derived Neurotrophic Factor (GDNF) is a disulfide-linked homodimeric glycoprotein that belongs to the TGF- beta superfamily. It has been shown to promote the survival of various neuronal subpopulations in both the central as well as the peripheral nervous systems at different stages of their development. Human GDNF cDNA encodes a 211 amino acid residue prepropeptide that is processed to yield a dimeric protein. Mature human GDNF was predicted to contain two 134 amino acid residue subunits. Cells known to express GDNF include Sertoli cells, type 1 astrocytes, Schwann cells, neurons, pinealocytes and skeletal muscle cells. Mutations in this gene may be associated with Hirschsprung disease.

T cells require a signal induced by the engagement of the T cell receptor and a €œcostimulatory€ signal(s) through distinct T cell surface molecules for optimal T cell activation and tolerance. CD273 is one of two ligands for programmed death-1 (PD-1; CD279), a member of the CD28 family of immunoreceptors. The other identified ligand is PD-L1. CD273 is broadly expressed and also up regulated in a variety of tumour cell lines. On previously activated T cells, CD273 interaction with PD-1 inhibits TCR mediated proliferation and cytokine production, suggesting an inhibitory role in regulating immune responses. CD273 has a costimulatory function on resting T cells activated with suboptimal TCR signals.

CCR8 Antibody: CCR8 is one of the chemokine receptors that are required as coreceptors for HIV infection. The genes encoding human and murine CCR8 were cloned and designated TER1, CKR-L1, and ChemR1. The encoded seven transmembrane protein was identified as the receptor for human CC chemokine I-309 and renamed CCR8. Recently, CCR8 was found to serve as a coreceptor for diverse T-cell tropic, dual-tropic and macrophage-tropic HIV-1 strains. CCR8 mediates CC chemokine I-309 induced monocyte chemoattraction and HIV-1 envelope fusion and virus infection, which can be prevented by the CCR8 ligand I-309. CCR8 is expressed in spleen, thymus and T lymphoblastic cell lines.

Survivin Antibody: Apoptosis, or programmed cell death, is related to many diseases, such as cancer. Apoptosis is triggered by a variety of stimuli including members in the TNF family and prevented by the inhibitor of apoptosis (IAP) proteins. IAP proteins form a conserved gene family that binds to and inhibits cell death proteases. A novel IAP protein was recently identified and designated survivin, apoptosis inhibitor 4 (API4), and TIAP. Survivin/TIAP interacted with the processed form of caspase-3 and inhibited its proteolytic activity. Survivin/TIAP is predominantly expressed in tissues of embryos, transformed cell lines, and many human cancers and lymphomas.

Caspase-13 Antibody: Apoptosis is related to many diseases and induced by a family of cell death receptors and their ligands. Cell death is finally caused by members of the caspase family of proteases and caspase activated DNases. A novel member in the caspase family was recently identified and designated ERICE (for Evolutionarily Related Interleukin-1 beta Converting Enzyme) and caspase-13. Caspase-13 belongs to the ICE subfamily of caspases. Overexpression of caspase-13 induces apoptosis. Caspase-13 was activated by caspase-8, which is a key enzyme in death receptor induced apoptosis. Caspase-13 is expressed in a variety of human tissues and cell lines.

It recognises a protein of 75 kDa, identified as Thrombomodulin. Thrombomodulin is a transmembrane glycoprotein with natural anticoagulant properties. It is normally expressed by a restricted number of cells, such as endothelial and mesothelial cells. In addition, synovial lining and syncytio-trophoblasts of placenta also express thrombomodulin. This protein is present in almost all of benign vascular tumors and majority of malignant vascular tumors (Kaposi s sarcoma, angiosarcoma, and epithelioid hemangioendothelioma). Hence, anti-thrombomodulin serves as a sensitive marker for lymphatic endothelial cells and their tumors. Recently, thrombomodulin antibody has been used for mesothelial cells and malignant mesotheliomas.

It is the critical T-cell co-stimulatory receptor which provides to the cell the important second activation signal by binding CD80 and CD86 that are expressed by antigen presenting cells. A novel cytokine related to IL2 and IL15 was recently identified and designated IL21. IL21 has been found to be a powerful growth factor for naive B cells. The receptor for IL21 (IL21R, also termed NILR for novel Interleukin receptor) is a new member of the class I cytokine receptor family. IL21R forms a complex with the common cytokine receptor g chain, gc, and mediates IL21 signaling. Both IL21R and the gc are necessary for the IL21 function. IL21 and its receptor activate JAKSTAT signaling pathway. IL21R is expressed in spleen, thymus, natural killer (NK), T and B cell lines. IL21 plays a role in the proliferation and maturation of NK, B and T cell populations.

SDPR Antibody: The serum deprivation-response protein (SDPR) is a calcium-independent phospholipid-binding protein whose expression is increased in serum-starved cells. SDPR is a substrate for protein kinase C (PKC) phosphorylation and recruits the polymerase I and transcript release factor (PTRF) to caveolae. Removal of this protein causes caveolae loss and its over-expression results in caveolae deformation and membrane tubulation. Both SDPR and PTRF, as well as the other member of the cavin family PRKCDBP were down regulated in breast cancer cell lines and breast tumor tissue, suggesting that expression of the cavin family proteins could be a useful prognostic indicator of breast cancer progression.

p16 (cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor 2A, INK4a) is a tumor suppressor protein. It is a specific inhibitor of Cdk 4 / Cdk 6, and a tumor suppressor involved in the pathogenesis of a variety of malignancies. Recent analyses of the p16 INK4a gene revealed homozygous deletions, nonsense, missense, or frameshift mutations in several human cancers. Although the frequency of p16 INK4a abnormalities is higher in tumor derived cell lines than in unselected primary tumors, significant subsets of clinical cases with aberrant p16 INK4a gene have been reported among melanomas, gliomas, esophageal, pancreatic, lung, and urinary bladder carcinomas, and some types of leukemia.
