NIPSNAP2 is a 286 amino acid protein that is abundantly expressed in heart and skeletal muscle. Belonging to the NIPSNAP family, NIPSNAP2 may be involved in vesicular transport. NIPSNAP2 contains a signal peptide, a transmembrane domain and two tyrosine phosphorylation sites. NIPSNAP2 is encoded by a gene mapping to human chromosome 7p11.2. Chromosomal region 7p12 is amplified in approximately 40% of glioblastomas, the most common and malignant form of central nervous system tumor. Human chromosome 7 houses over 1,000 genes and comprises nearly 5% of the human genome. Defects in some of the genes localized to chromosome 7 have been linked to Osteogenesis imperfecta, Williams-Beuren syndrome, Pendred syndrome, Lissencephaly, Citrullinemia and Shwachman-Diamond syndrome.

This MAb recognizes granulocyte-colony stimulating factor (G-CSF) in the cytoplasm of mature granulocytes. It shows no reactivity with any other cell types. Markers of myeloid cells are useful in the identification of different levels of cellular differentiation. It reacts with early precursor and mature forms of myeloid cells. It is useful for the detection of myeloid leukemias and granulocytic sarcomas. It can be used as a marker of granulocytes in normal tissues or inflammatory processes.G-CSF is a pleiotropic cytokine that influences differentiation, proliferation and activation of the neutrophilic granulocyte lineage. The human G-CSF cDNA encodes a 207 amino acid precursor containing a 29 amino acid signal peptide that is proteolytically cleaved to form a 178 amino acid residue mature protein. Two G-CSF's, which are identical except for a three amino acid deletion in the amino-terminus of one form of the protein have been isolated from human cells. Murine and human G-CSF's share 73% sequence identity at the amino acid level.

Recognizes a protein of 32 kDa, identified as CD8a (also known as CD8 chain, T cell co-receptor, Leu2, and T8). CD8 molecule consists of two chains, termed and chain, which are expressed as a disulphide-linked heterodimer or as an homodimer. CD8 is expressed on T cell subset (cytotoxic/suppressor T cells), thymocytes and NK cells. The majority of CD8 T-cells expresses CD8 as heterodimer. Some subpopulation of CD8 T cells as well as NK cells may express homodimer. CD8 functions as a co-receptor in concert with TCR for binding the MHC class I/peptide complex. The HIV-2 envelope glycoprotein binds CD8 chain (but not chain). The cytoplasmic domain of CD8 associates with p56lck tyrosine kinase.

NELL2 is a secreted glycoprotein with one N-terminal TSP-like domain, five VWFC (von Willebrand factor C) domains and six EGF-like repeats that participate in calcium binding. NELL2 exists as a homotrimer associated with the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) and is specifically expressed in neurons playing a role in calcium-dependent intracellular events. NELL2 may act as a trophic factor in addition to its role as a Signalling molecule implicated in the regulation of cell growth and differentiation. Due to alternative splicing, an additional NELL2 isoform exists that is identical to full length NELL2 except that it lacks the signal peptide that directs secretion. The additional isoform is therefore retained in the cytosol and functions as a non-secreted cytoplasmic protein that interacts with PKC bI.

This gene encodes coagulation factor XI of the blood coagulation cascade. This protein is present in plasma as a zymogen, which is a unique plasma coagulation enzyme because it exists as a homodimer consisting of two identical polypeptide chains linked by disulfide bonds. During activation of the plasma factor XI, an internal peptide bond is cleaved by factor XIIa (or XII) in each of the two chains, resulting in activated factor XIa, a serine protease composed of two heavy and two light chains held together by disulfide bonds. This activated plasma factor XI triggers the middle phase of the intrisic pathway of blood coagulation by activating factor IX. Recognizes a protein of 12 kDa, identified as microglobulin. Major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class 1 molecules bind to antigens for presentation on the surface of cells. The proteasome is responsible for producing these antigens from the components of foreign pathogens. MHC class 1 molecules consist of an α heavy chain that contains three subdomains (α1, α2, α3) and a non-covalent associating light chain, known as β-2-Microglobulin. β-2-Microglobulin associates with the α3 subdomain of the α heavy chain and forms an immunoglobulin domain-like structure that mediates proper folding and expression of MHC class 1 molecules. The α1 and α2 domains of the α heavy chain form the peptide antigen-binding cleft. Mutations in the β-2-Microglobulin gene can enhance the progression of malignant melanoma phenotypes.
