PDSS1 is an enzyme that elongates the prenyl side-chain of coenzyme Q, or ubiquinone, one of the key elements in the respiratory chain. PDSS1 catalyzes the formation of all trans-polyprenyl pyrophosphates from isopentyl diphosphate in the assembly of polyisoprenoid side chains, the first step in coenzyme Q biosynthesis. The protein may be peripherally associated with the inner mitochondrial membrane, though no transit peptide has been definitively identified to date. Defects in PDSS1 gene are a cause of coenzyme Q10 deficiency. The protein encoded by this gene is an enzyme that elongates the prenyl side-chain of coenzyme Q, or ubiquinone, one of the key elements in the respiratory chain. The protein encoded by RORA is a member of the NR1 subfamily of nuclear hormone receptors. It can bind as a monomer or as a homodimer to hormone response elements upstream of several genes to enhance the expression of those genes. The specific functions of this protein are not known, but it has been shown to interact with NM23-2, a nucleoside diphosphate kinase involved in organogenesis and differentiation, as well as with NM23-1, the product of a tumor metastasis suppressor candidate gene.

Inositol monophosphatase 2, also known as Inositol-1(or 4)-monophosphatase 2, Myo-inositol monophosphatase A2 and IMPA2, is an enzyme which belongs to the inositol monophosphatase family. IMPA2 catalyses the dephosphoylration of inositol monophosphate with cofactor Magnesium and Inhibited by high Li+ and restricted Mg2+ concentrations. IMPA2 plays an important role in phosphatidylinositol signaling. IMPA2 can use the myo-inositol monophosphates, scylloinositol 1,4-diphosphate, glucose-1-phosphate, beta-glycerophosphate, and 2'-AMP as substrates. IMPA2 is a pharmacological target for lithium Li(+) action in brain, it is considered to have a role in schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.

Human Galactosylgalactosylxylosylprotein 3-beta-glucuronosyltransferase 3 (B3GAT3) is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the B3GAT3 gene, belongs to the glycosyltransferase 43 family. B3GAT3 is involved in a number of biological processes such as catalyzing the formation of the glycosaminoglycan-protein linkage by way of a glucuronyl transfer reaction in the final step of the biosynthesis of the linkage region of proteoglycans, forming the linkage tetrasaccharide present in heparan sulfate and chondroitin sulfate, gGlycosaminoglycans biosynthesis, transfering a glucuronic acid moiety from the uridine diphosphate-glucuronic acid (UDP-GlcUA) to the common linkage region trisaccharide Gal-beta-1,3-Gal-beta-1,4-Xyl covalently bound to a Ser residue at the glycosaminylglycan attachment site of proteoglycans. It also plays a role in the biosynthesis of l2/HNK-1 carbohydrate epitope on glycoproteins , hows strict specificity for Gal-beta-1,3-Gal-beta-1,4-Xyl, exhibiting negligible incorporation into other galactoside substrates including Galbeta1-3Gal beta1-O-benzyl, Galbeta1-4GlcNAc and Galbeta1-4Glc and stimulates 2-phosphoxylose phosphatase activity of PXYLP1 in presence of uridine diphosphate-glucuronic acid (UDP-GlcUA) during completion of linkage region formation.

Inosine Triphosphate Pyrophosphatase (ITPase) is a cytoplasmic enzyme that belongs to the HAM1 NTPase family. ITPase hydrolyses the non-canonical purine nucleotides inosine triphosphate (ITP) and deoxyinosine triphosphate (dITP) to the monophosphate nucleotide (IMP) and diphosphate. The ITPase enzyme acts as a homodimer and does not distinguish between the deoxy- and ribose forms. ITPase probably excludes non-canonical purines from RNA and DNA precursor pools, thus preventing their incorporation into RNA and DNA and avoiding chromosomal lesions. Defects in ITPase is thought to be inherited and is characterised by an over-accumulation of ITP in erythocytes, leukocytes and fibroblasts.

RRM1 is one of two non-identical subunits that constitute ribonucleoside-diphosphate reductase, an enzyme essential for the production of deoxyribonucleotides prior to DNA synthesis in S phase of dividing cells. Its gene is located in the imprinted gene domain of 11p15.5, an important tumor-suppressor gene region. Alterations in this region have been associated with the Beckwith-Wiedemann syndrome, Wilms tumor, rhabdomyosarcoma, adrenocrotical carcinoma, and lung, ovarian, and breast cancer. Its gene may play a role in malignancies and disease that involve this region.Western blots using two different antibodies against two unique regions of this protein target confirm the same apparent molecular weight in our tests. This gene encodes one of two non-identical subunits which constitute ribonucleoside-diphosphate reductase, an enzyme essential for the production of deoxyribonucleotides prior to DNA synthesis in S phase of dividing cells. Tumor suppressor. Acts as a dual-specificity protein phosphatase, dephosphorylating tyrosine-, serine- and threonine-phosphorylated proteins. Also acts as a lipid phosphatase, removing the phosphate in the D3 position of the inositol ring from phosphatidylinositol 3, 4, 5-trisphosphate, phosphatidylinositol 3, 4-diphosphate, phosphatidylinositol 3-phosphate and inositol 1, 3, 4, 5-tetrakisphosphate with order of substrate preference in vitro PtdIns(3, 4, 5)P3 > PtdIns(3, 4)P2 > PtdIns3P > Ins(1, 3, 4, 5)P4. The lipid phosphatase activity is critical for its tumor suppressor function. Antagonizes the PI3K-AKT/PKB signaling pathway by dephosphorylating phosphoinositides and thereby modulating cell cycle progression and cell survival. The unphosphorylated form cooperates with AIP1 to suppress AKT1 activation. Dephosphorylates tyrosine-phosphorylated focal adhesion kinase and inhibits cell migration and integrin-mediated cell spreading and focal adhesion formation. May be a negative regulator of insulin signaling and glucose metabolism in adipose tissue.

Guanosine is a purine nucleoside comprising guanine attached to a ribose (ribofuranose) ring via a β-N9-glycosidic bond. Guanosine can be phosphorylated to become guanosine monophosphate (GMP), cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP), guanosine diphosphate (GDP), and guanosine triphosphate (GTP). These forms play important roles in various biochemical processes such as synthesis of nucleic acids and proteins, photosynthesis, muscle contraction and intracellular signal transduction (cGMP). When guanine is attached by its N9 nitrogen to the C1 carbon of adeoxyribose ring it is known as deoxyguanosine.
Guanosine is required for an RNA splicing reaction in mRNA, when a "self-splicing" intron removes itself from the mRNA message by cutting at both ends, re-ligating, and leaving just the exons on either side to be translated into protein. The antiviral drug aciclovir, often used in herpes treatment, is structurally similar to guanosine.
