Keratins are a family of intermediate filament proteins that assemble into filaments through forming heterodimers of one type I keratin (keratins 9 to 23) and one type II keratin (keratins 1 to 8). Keratins demonstrate tissue and differentiation specific expression profiles. Keratin 15 is a type I keratin which is expressed only in basal keratinocytes in stratified epithelia and does not appear to have a natural type II expression partner. Keratin 15 is down regulated in activated keratinocytes. Cytokeratin 15 is a specific marker of stem cells of the hair-follicle bulge and may be a useful marker for diagnosis between basal cell carcinoma (BCC) and trichoepithelioma. Trichoblastoma are benign neoplasms of follicular differentiation frequently found in nevus sebaceous. Many morphologic features are shared with nodular basal cell carcinoma, sometimes rendering a diagnosis difficult. Trichoblastoma and BCC show variable expression of Cytokeratin 15 and Cytokeratin 19, and absence of hair keratins.

The BM8.1 monoclonal antibody specifically binds to the Mouse125 kDa F4/80 antigen, expressed by most mature macrophages. F4/80 is a transmembrane protein used as a marker of macrophages, although it is also expressed on Kupffer and Langerhans cells. The expression of F4/80 antigen is upregulated on bone marrow cells stimulated in vitro with the macrophage colony stimulating factor. The F4/80 antigen is a requirement for the induction of CD8 T cells-mediated peripheral tolerance.

ACE2 Antibody: Angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) plays a central role in vascular, renal, and myocardial physiology. In contrast to its homolog ACE, ACE2 expression is restricted to heart, kidney, and testis. Recently. ACE2 has also been shown to be a functional receptor of the SARS coronavirus. The normal function of ACE2 is to convert the inactive vasoconstrictor angiotensin I (AngI) to Ang1-9 and the active form AngII to Ang1-7, unlike ACE, which converts AngI to AngII. While the role of these vasoactive peptides is not well understood, lack of ACE2 expression in ace2-/ace2- mice leads to severely reduced cardiac contractility, indicating its importance in regulating heart function.

Fibulin 3 Antibody: Fibulin 3, also known as epidermal growth factor (EGF)-containing fibulin-like extracellular matrix protein 1 (EFEMP1), is a member of the fibulin family of extracellular glycoproteins, a group of proteins that are widely distributed and frequently associated with vascular and elastic tissues. The fibulin proteins typically contain a tandem array of EGF-like repeats and a fibulin-type COOH-terminal module. Aberrant accumulation of Fibulin 3 in the endoplasmic reticulum of retinal pigment epithelial cells has been shown to be associated with inherited forms of macular degeneration, but the loss of Fibulin 3 expression does not lead to macular degeneration but rather the appearance of hernias due to a reduction of elastic fibers of fascial connective tissue. Recent experiments have shown that expression of Fibulin 3 promotes tumor growth and may thus be a therapeutic target. At least three isoforms of Fibulin 3 are known to exist. This antibody is predicted to not cross-react with other Fibulin proteins.

HVCN1 Antibody: HVCN1 (hydrogen voltage-gated channel 1), a voltage gated proton channel protein that is highly expressed in immune tissues, mediates the proton conductances required by phagocytic leukocytes for the oxidative burst that underlies microbial killing. HVCN1 moderates the voltage-dependent proton permeability of excitable membranes by allowing the flow of protons in accordance to their electrochemical gradient.
