Neuritin Antibody: As the nervous system of a complex organism develops, it establishes functional networks through the growth and retraction of synaptic connections from growing axons and dendrites. This synaptic remodeling involves neuro-transmitter signaling, activation of neurotrophin receptors and alterations in gene expression. One such gene whose expression is increased by neural activity is neuritin, a GPI-anchored protein that is expressed in postmitotic differentiating neurons of the developing nervous system. Its expression is also induced by the neurotrophins BDNF and NT-3. Purified recombinant neuritin promotes neurite outgrowth and arborization in primary embryonic neuronal cultures, suggesting that neuritin may play a role as a downstream effector of activity-induced neurite outgrowth. More recent experiments have shown that neuritin is required for the androgen-induced axonal elongation in motor neurons and is upregulated following spinal cord injury, suggesting that neuritin may also play a role in survival and axonal regeneration.

YPEL4 Antibody: YPEL4 (yippee-like 4) belongs to a family of five yippee-like proteins, all of which localize to the centrosome or mitotic spindle and are widely expressed in both adult and fetal tissue. This localization plus the fact that the family of human YPEL proteins share a high degree of sequence homology across species suggests that these proteins may have a conserved function involved in cell division. YPEL4 is ubiquitously expressed in adult tissues and has been shown to associate with the major vault protein (MVP). It has been suggested that MVP can inhibit YPEL4's ability to activate Elk-1 in the MAPK signaling pathway.

It recognises CD16 (Fcgamma;RIII), the low-affinity receptor for IgG with an apparent molecular weight of 50-80 kDa. Two similar genes represent CD16, CD16A (Fcgamma;RIIIA), which exists as a hetero-oligomeric polypeptide-anchored form in macrophages and NK cells and CD16B (Fcgamma;RIIIB), which exist as a monomeric GPI-anchored form in neutrophils. Furthermore, there are two known polymorphisms of CD16B, NA-1 and NA-2. Individuals homozygous for NA-2 show a lower phagocytic capacity compared with NA-1. CD16 binds IgG in the form of immune complexes and shows preferential binding of IgG1 and IgG3 isotypes and minimal binding of IgG2 and IgG4. Upon IgG binding, both CD16 isoforms initiate signal transduction cascades that lead to a variety of responses including antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity (ADCC), phagocytosis, degranulation and proliferation.

Filaggrin (filament aggregating protein) is a filament-associated protein that binds to keratin fibers in epithelial cells. Ten to twelve filaggrin units are post-translationally hydrolized from a large profilaggrin precursor protein during terminal differentiation of epidermal cells. In humans, profilaggrin is encoded by the FLG gene, which is part of the S100 fused-type protein (SFTP) family within the epidermal differentiation complex on chromosome 1q21.<p>Filaggrin is essential for the regulation of epidermal homeostasis. Within the stratum corneum, filaggrin monomers can become incorporated into the lipid envelope, which is responsible for the skin barrier function. Alternatively, these proteins can interact with keratin intermediate filaments. Filaggrin undergoes further processing in the upper stratum corneum to release free amino acids that assist in water retention. [Wiki].
