PIT1 is a pituitary-specific transcription factor responsible for pituitary development and hormone expression in mammals and is a member of the POU family of transcription factors that regulate mammalian development. The POU family is so named because the first 3 members identified were PIT1 and OCT1 of mammals, and Unc-86 of C. elegans. PIT1 contains 2 protein domains, termed POU-specific and POU-homeo, which are both necessary for high affinity DNA binding on genes encoding growth hormone and prolactin. PIT1 is also important for regulation of the genes encoding prolactin and thyroid-stimulating hormone beta subunit by thyrotropin-releasing hormone and cyclic AMP.

The RB6-8C5 monoclonal antibody reacts with the mouse Ly-6G (also known as Gr-1). The Ly-6G protein is a myeloid differentiation antigen of 21 to 25 kDa, expressed in a regulated manner by the myeloid lineage in the bone marrow, where the level of antigen expression is correlated with the granulocyte maturation and differentiation. In the bone marrow, the antigen is not expressed by the erythroid cells. From the peripheric cells, RB6-8C5 binds with monocytes, neutrophils and eosinophils.As a marker for the mouse monocytes, macrophages and granulocytes, the RB6-8C5 antibody is usually combined with M1/70, a macrophage labeling antibody (Anti-CD11b), for phenotypic analysis.

CCR8 Antibody: CCR8 is one of the chemokine receptors that are required as coreceptors for HIV infection. The genes encoding human and murine CCR8 were cloned and designated TER1, CKR-L1, and ChemR1. The encoded seven transmembrane protein was identified as the receptor for human CC chemokine I-309 and renamed CCR8. Recently, CCR8 was found to serve as a coreceptor for diverse T-cell tropic, dual-tropic and macrophage-tropic HIV-1 strains. CCR8 mediates CC chemokine I-309 induced monocyte chemoattraction and HIV-1 envelope fusion and virus infection, which can be prevented by the CCR8 ligand I-309. CCR8 is expressed in spleen, thymus and T lymphoblastic cell lines.
