Human Chemokine (C-C Motif) Ligand 3 (CCL3) is a small cytokine belonging to the CC chemokine family. CCL3 is primarily expressed in T cells, B cells, and monocytes after antigen or mitogen stimulation. CCL3 exhibits chemoattractive and adhesive effects on lymphocytes. CCL3 exerts multiple effects on hematopoietic precursor cells and inhibits the proliferation of hematopoietic stem cells in vitro as well as in vivo. CCR1 and CCR5 have been identified as functional receptors for CCL3.

Zinc- alpha-2-Glycoprotein (AZGP1) can be found in blood plasma, seminal plasma, urine, sweat, saliva, liver, and epithelial cells of various human glands. AZGP1 has been proposed in the regulation of body weight, and the melanin production by normal and malignant melanocytes. AZGP1 stimulates lipid degradation in adipocytes and causes the extensive fat losses associated with some advanced cancers. AZGP1 has been reported to stimulate lipid breakdown and may have an important role in lipid homeostasis. Mature human AZGP1 consists of one MHC class I antigen region and a C2-type Ig-like domain. AZGP1 has two alternate splice forms, one shows a 66 amino acids substitution for the C-terminal 30 amino acids, the other one shows a nine Lys substitution for amino acid 151-298.

Hepatoma-Derived Growth Factor is a original member of the HDGF family. HDGF is a cytoplasmic protein and contains one PWWP domain. Bcl-2-Like Protein 1 (BCL2L1) is a member of the Bcl-2 family. BCL2L1 is expressed at high levels in cells that undergo a high rate of turnover, such as developing lymphocytes. BCL2L1 is a mitochondrial membrane protein. BCL2L1 contains four motifs, BH1, BH2 and BH4. The BH4 motif is required for anti-apoptotic activity. The BH1 and BH2 motifs are required for both heterodimerization with other Bcl-2 family members and for repression of cell death. BCL2L1 regulates cell death by blocking the voltage-dependent anion channnel (VDAC) and preventing the release of the caspase activator, CYC1, from the mitochondrial membrane. In addition, BCL2L1 promotes apoptosis.

tumour Necrosis Factor- alpha (TNF- alpha) is secreted by macrophages, monocytes, neutrophils, T-cells, and NK-cells following stimulation by bacterial LPS. Cells expressing CD4 secrete TNF- alpha while cells that express CD8 secrete little or no TNF- alpha. Synthesis of TNF- alpha can be induced by many different stimuli including interferons, IL2, and GM-CSF. The clinical use of the potent anti-tumour activity of TNF- alpha has been limited by the proinflammatory side effects such as fever, dose-limiting hypotension, hepatotoxicity, intravascular thrombosis, and hemorrhage. Designing clinically applicable TNF- alpha mutants with low systemic toxicity has been of intense pharmacological interest. Human TNF- alpha that binds to murine TNF-R55 but not murine TNF-R7, exhibits retained anti-tumour activity and reduced systemic toxicity in mice compared with murine TNF- alpha, which binds to both murine TNF receptors. Based on these results, many TNF- alpha mutants that selectively bind to TNF-R55 have been designed. These mutants displayed cytotoxic activities on tumour cell lines in vitro and have exhibited lower systemic toxicity in vivo. Recombinant Human TNF- alpha High Active Mutant differs from the wild-type by amino acid subsitution of amino acids 1-7 with Arg8, Lys9, Arg10 and Phe157. This mutant form has been shown to have increased activity with less inflammatory side effects in vivo.

Human CD83 is a 40-50 kDa member of the Siglec (or sialic-acid-binding immunoglobulin-like lectin) family of transmembrane proteins. CD83 is a primary marker for dendritic cells. It is also found on B cells, neutrophils, monocytes and macrophages. Except for dendritic cells, CD83 expression is often transient. CD83 binds to sialic acids on target cells. Membrane CD83 promotes T cell proliferation, particularly of CD8+ cytotoxic T cells. Soluble CD83 is immunosuppressive and blocks T cell activation. On monocytes, CD83 is suggested to drive monocytes into a fibrocyte phenotype. A lack of membrane-expressed CD83 leads to an unusual IL-4/ IL-10 producing CD4+ T cell phenotype.
