The weight of the CD62L molecules depend on their origin: 74 kDa (on lymphocytes) or 95 kDa (on neutrophils).In the Mouseorganism, CD62L can be expressed by most thymocytes, on subsets of B and T lymphocytes, monocytes, eosinophils, and neutrophils. The L-selectin binds sulfated, fucosylated, and glycosylated glycoproteins (MadCAM-1, GLYCAM-1, and CD 34). It mediates the migration of lymphocytes to the site of inflammation and their return to the peripheral lymphoid tissues and to the HEV (high endothelial venules). In vitro, L-selectin inhibits this binding and the lymphocyte extravasation into peripheral lymph nodes.

Paromomycin is a broad spectrum aminoglycoside antibiotic produced by Streptomyces rimosus var. paromomycinus. It has <i>in vitro</i> and <i>in vivo</i> activity similar to neomycin. It is effective against gram-negative bacteria, gram-positive bacteria, some protozoan species, and limited anti helminth. It is used to study bacterial protein synthesis at the level of 16S ribosomal RNA and 30S ribosome assembly. Paromomycin is used to study cytosine-cytosine (CC) mismatch-containing RNA molecules and is used to inhibit cryptosporidium infection of a human enterocyte cell line.

Multiple isoelectric variants of calponin have been identified, however only two molecular weight isoforms exist; a 34 kDa form and a 29 kDa form. Expression of the 29 kDa form, I-calponin, is primarily restricted to muscle of the urogenital tract, whereas the higher molecular weight variant has been demonstrated in vascular and visceral smooth muscle. Calponin is a calmodulin, F-actin and tropomyosin binding protein, which is thought to be involved in the regulation of smooth muscle contraction. Calponin expression is restricted to smooth muscle cells and has been shown to be a marker of the differentiated (contractile) phenotype of developing smooth muscle.

The G protein–coupled receptor kinases (GRKs) are a versatile family of kinases that play a critical role in cancer metastasis through their regulation of G-protein coupled receptors (GPCRs) involved in growth factor mediated cell migration (1,2). Phosphorylation of receptors by GRKs appears to be strictly dependent on the receptor being in its agonist-activated state. GRK6 is one of 7 members of the GRK serine/threonine kinase subfamily, which has been shown to modulate the Wnt signaling pathway via phosphorylation of LRP6 (3,4), and the insulin-like growth factor signaling pathway.
