This MAb recognizes proteins of 19-22 kDa (reducing) and 38 kDa-44 kDa (non-reducing), identified as various isoforms of Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor or Vascular Permeability Factor (VEGF/VPF). It is highly specific to VEGF, which is a homodimeric, disulfide-linked glycoprotein with a close homology to platelet derived growth factor (PDGF). There are multiple isoforms of VEGF containing 206-, 189-, 165-, and 121-amino acid residues. The smaller two isoforms, VEGF165 and VEGF121, are secreted proteins and act as diffusible agents, whereas the larger two remain cell associated. VEGF/VPF plays an important role in angiogenesis, which promotes tumor progression and metastasis.

Ahlstrom-Munksjö’s qualitative grades of filter paper are recommended for use in analytical methods which determine or identify particulate constituents of a mixture irrespective of the amount present. Qualitative filter papers are often used in routine separation work that still requires high purity and consistent performance. These filter papers covers a wide range of laboratory applications, as liquids clarification, qualitative analytical separations for precipitates and buffers filtration, and are also used for soil analysis and in food and beverage testing. Wet-strengthened grades contain a reinforcement agent that increases their resistance to rupture when wet, such as in vacuum filtration, and their resistance when filtering acidic solutions. High Purity hardened filter papers grades 1288 to 1291 are also produced from cellulose with an alpha content of nearly 100% resulting in an ash content of <0,1%.

A proprietary preparation of human amyloid beta peptide (amino acids 1-42) that was initially monomerized by HFIP-treatment and then allowed to form oligomers by the procedure described in Youmans KL et al., 2012, followed by lyophilisation using Biosensis’ proprietary stabilization procedures.
The resulting oligomeric mixture has been specially designed to allow the formation of stable, oligomeric Aβ1-42 peptide, multimeric complexes or oligomers. The material is intended to be used as a stable and consistent standard or positive control for oligomeric ELISA assays, as well as other research applications. This product is supplied as 2 x 500 ng vials, each containing lyophilized Aβ oligomers. Note that the amount of provided oligomeric protein is based on the amount of monomeric Aβ used to form these oligomers. The precise formation, size and number of oligomers cannot be quantified by any known method.

The GL-1 monoclonal antibody reacts specifically with the mouse B7-2 (also known as CD86), a costimulatory molecule expressed by B and T lymphocytes, macrophages (thioglycollate-induced from peritoneum), astrocytes and dendritic cells. The memory CD4+ T lymphocytes express CD86 (as mRNA and protein). CD86, and the B7-1 (CD 80) molecule, are ligands for CD152 and CD28, and influence the costimulatory interactions between lymphocytes B and T. B7-2 is also involved in the mouse natural killer cell-mediated cytotoxicity. The GL-1 antibody blocks the mixed lymphocyte reaction (MLR) and inhibits the T-cells stimulation by antigen-presenting cells. Mixtures of anti-B7-1 antibody and GL-1 were reported to inhibit the interaction between CD125 and its ligand with the in vivo priming of cytotoxic T lymphocytes.

Sodium chloride is a commonly used chemical which is found widely in nature. It is considered to be an essential nutrient. Excess amounts of sodium chloride can destroy electrolyte balance and cause death in most animals, including humans.
Sodium chloride is used in a wide variety of biochemical applications, including intravenous fluids (normal saline is 0.9% w/v in water 10), density gradients 3,6, a diluent to increase ionic strength in buffers or culture media and in salt-out procedures in the isolation of DNA. It has also been used in high concentrations for preservation of foods since bacteria cannot grow in high salt conditions. A salt-ice mixture in the ratio of approximately 33 g sodium chloride to 100 g ice (at -1°C) will drop in temperature to as low as -21°C, depending on the rate of stirring and the size of the ice chunks.
