This MAb is highly specific to cytokeratin 7 and shows no cross-reaction with other IFPs. Cytokeratin 7 is a basic cytokeratin, which is found in most glandular and transitional epithelia but not in the stratified squamous epithelia. Keratin 7 is expressed in the epithelial cells of ovary, lung, and breast but not of colon, prostate, or gastrointestinal tract. The antimicrobial protein Bactericidal Permeability Increasing protein (BPI) is a 55 kDa protein found in the primary granules of polymorhonuclear leukocytes (PMN). The cytotoxicity action of BPI is limited to gram negative bacteria, reflecting the high affinity of BPI for bacterial LPS. Binding of BPI to live bacteria via LPS causes anti-infective activites: 1) cytotoxicity via sequential damage to bacterial outer and inner lipid membranes, 2) neutralization of gram-negative bacterial LPS, 3) opsonization of bacteria to enhance phagocytosis by neutrophils.

BCL10, with an N-terminal caspase recruitment domain (CARD), is found in a number of apoptotic regulatory molecules. It was identified through its direct involvement in t(1;14) of mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymphoma. Expression of BCL10 was shown to induce NFkB activation in a NIK-dependent pathway. This MAb labels subpopulations of normal B and T cells and is a useful tool for the sub-classification of lymphomas. In MALT lymphomas with the t(1;14) translocation, while 55% of MALT lymphomas lacking this translocation exhibited the same labeling pattern, although at a much lower level.

The Biosensis ApoE/Aβ Complex ELISA kit is a sandwich ELISA that allows the preferential measurement of ApoE/Aβ complexes. This kit consists of a pre-coated mouse monoclonal anti-Aβ capture antibody, a highly validated ApoE/Aβ complex standard that is pre-formed, lyophilised and ready for reconstitution, a biotinylated ApoE detection antibody, and horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated streptavidin and detection reagent. The addition of a substrate (3,3’,5,5’-tetramethylbenzidine, TMB) yields a coloured reaction product which is directly proportional to the level of ApoE/Aβ complex present in samples and protein standards. Importantly, a well-characteriaed and unique ApoE/Aβ complex is included as a standard. This complex is pre-formed and lyophilised, requiring only reconstitution with assay diluent prior to use.

Twenty human keratins are resolved with two-dimensional gel electrophoresis into acidic (pI 6.0) subfamilies. The acidic keratins have molecular weights (MW) of 56.5, 55, 51, 50, 50 , 48, 46, 45, and 40 kDa. Many studies have shown the usefulness of keratins as markers in cancer research and tumor diagnosis.
