PRMT5 methylates specific arginine residues in the small nuclear ribonucleoproteins Sm D1 and Sm D3 to monomethylarginine and to symmetrical dimethylarginines (sDMAs). It methylates SUPT5H. PRMT5 plays a role in the assembly of snRNP core particles and may play a role in cytokine-activated transduction pathways. It negatively regulates cyclin E1 promoter activity and cellular proliferation and May regulate the SUPT5H transcriptional elongation properties. It may be part of a pathway that is connected to a chloride current, possibly through cytoskeletal rearrangement. PRMT5 methylates histone H2A/H4 'Arg-3' during germ cell development and methylates histone H3 'Arg-8', which may repress transcription.

Chlorite dismutase (Cld) found in prokaryotic organisms, also known as Chlorite O2-lyase, is a b-type heme containing enzyme that catalyses the reduction of chlorite into chloride plus dioxygen. The subunit of chlorite dismutase consists of a heme free N-terminal and a heme b containing C-terminal ferredoxin-like fold with high structural homology to the dye-decolorizing peroxidases (DyPs). The physiological role of Cld in prokaryote has been shown that some microorganisms can use perchlorate or chlorate as terminal electron acceptors for anaerobic respiration thereby producing chlorite that must be detoxified. This enzyme has gained attention because it can be used in the development of bioremediation processes, biosensors, and controlled dioxygen production.

TMEM16A Antibody: Calcium-activated chloride channels (CaCC) are present in many cell types and mediate physiological functions such as epithelial secretion, sensory signal transduction, and smooth muscle contraction. Subunits of these CaCC's include the transmembrane proteins TMEM16A and TMEM16B. TMEM16A is expressed in epithelial cells of the kidney and lung, pancreas, and sensory neurons and its mRNA is seen in foregut, airway epithelia, and tracheal smooth muscle; mice lacking TMEM16A fail to survive past ten days and show aerophagia and little weight gain. TMEM16A is also overexpressed or amplified in multiple cancers associated with poor survival such as oral cancers and gastrointestinal stromal tumors, suggesting the development of CaCC modulators may be a viable therapeutic strategy.

The antibody is produced by hyperimmunizing goats with the enzyme beta-galactosidase from Escherichia coli. The IgG fraction is prepared by delipidation, ammonium sulfate fractionation, and anion exchange chromatography, and is further purified by solid-phase absorption to remove antibodies to non-beta-galactosidase E. coli proteins. The product is dialyzed into 0.02M sodium phosphate, 0.14M sodium chloride, pH 7.3, adjusted to standard titer, filtered through a 0.22 μm filter, and vialed. No preservative is added.
