IGF2BP2 (insulin-like growth factor 2 mRNA binding protein 2) is also known as IGF2 mRNA-binding protein 2, IMP-2 (IGF-II mRNA-binding protein 2), VICKZ family member 2 or hepatocellular carcinoma autoantigen p62 and is a 556 amino acid protein. IGF2BP2 is expressed in a variety of tissues including heart, placenta, skeletal muscle, pancreas, fetal liver, lung, kidney, thymus and gonadal cells. IGF2BP2 is an RNA binding protein which may be involved in the regulation of mRNA translation and may also function to control the spatial localization of target mRNAs. against IGF2BP2 have been detected in patients with HCC (hepatocellular carcinoma), suggesting that IGF2BP2 may have a role in the pathogenesis of HCC. Defects in IGF2BP2 are thought to be associated with susceptibility to type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Casein kinase I isoform alpha-like (CSNK1A1L) is a 337 amino acid protein that shares a high degree of sequence similarity with the alpha isoform of casein kinase 1. CSNK1A1L resides in the cytoplasm and participates in the Wnt signaling pathway. By utilizing ATP within its protein kinase domain, CSNK1A1L phosphorylates a large number of proteins.

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the class II histone deacetylase/acuc/apha family. It possesses histone deacetylase activity and represses transcription when tethered to a promoter. It coimmunoprecipitates only with HDAC3 family member and might form multicomplex proteins. It also interacts with myocyte enhancer factor-2 (MEF2) proteins, resulting in repression of MEF2-dependent genes. This gene is thought to be associated with colon cancer. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.

The PK136 antibody is specific for mouse NK1.1, a type II transmembrane lectin-like receptor and member of the killer cell lectin-like receptor (KLR) family. NK1.1 is prominently expressed on natural killer (NK) cells, and is correlated with NK cytotoxic effects toward virus-infected cells and tumor cells. NK1.1 is expressed on subsets of NKT cells in certain mouse strains (C57BL/6, FVB/N, and NZB), yet absent from others (AKR, BALB/c, CBA/J, C3H, DBA/1, DBA/2, NOD, SJL, and 129). Putative subsets of NK cells and their expression of NK1.1 antigen are of continuing interest, including NK1.1+/CD117+ (c-Kit) cells reported to be immunosuppressive for CD8+ T cells in a mechanism involving PD-1 and PD-L1 (Ehlers et al. 2012. Endocrinology. 10: 1247).

Aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases consist of a family of enzymes that catalyze the specific aminoacylation of tRNA by their cognate amino acid in the initial step of ribosome-dependent protein biosynthesis. FARSLA, also known as FRSA, CML33, FARSL or PheHA (phenylalanyl-tRNA synthetase, alpha subunit), is a member of the class-II aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase family and is highly expressed in proliferating cells of bone marrow. FARSLA is a cytoplasmic phenylalanine-tRNA synthetase that functions as a heterodimer consisting of a catalytic alpha-subunit and a regulatory beta-subunit. The alpha-subunit is responsible for forming the amino acid binding pocket, mediating the ATP/aminoacyl adenylate binding, and interacts with the acceptor stem of the tRNA. FARSLA functions in a cell cycle-dependent and differentiation-dependent manner.
