Acetyl-CoA carboxylase (ACC) is a complex multifunctional enzyme system. ACC is a biotin-containing enzyme which catalyzes the carboxylation of acetyl-CoA to malonyl-CoA, the rate-limiting step in fatty acid synthesis. There are two ACC forms, alpha and beta, encoded by two different genes. ACC-alpha is highly enriched in lipogenic tissues. The enzyme is under long term control at the transcriptional and translational levels and under short term regulation by the phosphorylation/dephosphorylation of targeted serine residues and by allosteric transformation by citrate or palmitoyl-CoA. Golgin 245 is also known as p230, GCP2, GOLG or golgi autoantigen and is a 2,230 amino acid protein that is expressed as three isoforms. Golgin 245 is localized to the cytoplasm in cells and is a member of the golgin family, all of which are peripheral membrane proteins associated with the Golgi complex. Golgin 245 has a carboxyl-terminal GRIP domain, which attaches to the trans-Golgi network (TGN) and TGN-derived vesicles. It is thought that the interaction that takes place between golgin 245 and MACF1, which cross-links microtubules to the Actin cytoskeleton, allows proteins to be transported from the TGN to the cell periphery. against golgin 245 are associated with two chronic disorders known as Sjé°ƒren's syndrome and Hepatitis B.

Isolated from proliferating HL-60 cells, FBP1 (FBP), FBP2 and FBP3 comprise a family of single-stranded DNA-binding proteins that specifically bind to FUSE elements. The FBP transcription factors share a conserved central DNA-binding domain and show significant homology in their carboxyl-terminal activation domains. Expression of FBP1 is detected in undifferentiated cells and is substantially decreased following cellular differentiation.

The UDP-Glucuronosyltransferases (UGT) comprise a family of enzymes that detoxify and enhance the urinary excretion of a wide variety of xenobiotic and endogenous substrates by transferring glucuronic acid to sulfhydryl, hydroxyl, aromatic amino, or carboxylic acid groups. They have been subdivided into two families, UGT1 and UGT2, based on the evolutionary divergence of their genes. The enzymes of the UGT1A family play an important role in the metabolism of dietary constituents, phenols, and therapeutic drugs, and also the glucuronidation of bilirubin and iodothyronines. The enzymes of the UGT2B family are involved in the metabolism of bile acids, phenol derivatives, catecholoestrogens and steroids. Although it is widely recognized that the liver is the major site of glucuronidation, it is now clear that UGT enzymes are also found in extra-hepatic tissues.

Upon cell activation, LAMP1 transfer to the plasma membrane is dependent on a carboxyl terminal tyrosine based motif (YXXI). Perturbation in the spacing between the tyrosine based motif relative to the membrane abolishes lysosome localization of LAMP1. This mutant protein then cycles between the plasma membrane and the endosome. Cell surface LAMP1 and LAMP2 have been shown to promote adhesion of human peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) to vascular endothelium, therefore they are possibly involved in the adhesion of PBMCs to the site of inflammation.
