FAS is a receptor and contains three TNFR-Cys repeats and one death domain. It has been shown that FAS is involved in the physiological regulation of programmed cell death, and has been implicated in the pathogenesis of various malignancies and diseases of the immune system. FADD (adapter molecule) recruits caspase-8 to the activated receptor, the resulting death-inducing signaling complex (DISC) performs caspase-8 proteolytic activation which initiates the subsequent cascade of caspases mediating apoptosis. FAS-mediated apoptosis may play a role in the induction of peripheral tolerance, in the antigen-stimulated suicide of mature T-cells, or both.

Serpin B12 is a member of the serpin family. Serpins are the largest and most diverse family of serine protease inhibitors. Most serpins are secreted and attain physiologic concentrations in the blood and extracellular fluids. Serpin B12 is expressed in many tissues, including brain, bone marrow, lymph node, heart, lung, liver, pancreas, testis, ovary, and intestine. Serpins are involved in a number of fundamental biological processes such as blood coagulation, complement activation, fibrinolysis, angiogenesis, inflammation and tumour suppression and are expressed in a cell-specific manner. SerpinB12 inhibits trypsin and plasmin, but not thrombin, coagulation factor Xa, or urokinase-type plasminogen activator.

CCL22 (C-C Motif Chemokine 22; Stimulated T cell chemotactic protein; STCP1) is a CC chemokine initially isolated from clones of monocyte-derived macrophages and binds to the receptor CCR4. Human CCL22 is highly expressed in macrophage and in monocyte-derived dendritic cells and thymus. It is also found in lymph node, appendix, activated monocytes, resting and activated macrophages. May play a role in the trafficking of activated/effector T lymphocytes to inflammatory sites and other aspects of activated T lymphocyte physiology. CCL22 has been shown to induce chemotaxis or Ca2+ mobilisation in dendritic cells, IL-2 activated NK cells and activated T lymphocytes.

CD55 is a member of the RCA (regulators of complement activation) family. RCA proteins is characterized by the presence of four to 30 SCRs (short consensus repeats also called CCPs for control protein modules) in their plasmaexposed regions. CD55 containing four SCR modules is involved in the regulation of the complement cascade. CD55 is known to bind CD97 via the first SCR. It also binds physiologically generated C3 convertases with its second and third SCRs. Binding results in an accelerated “decay”, or dissociation of active C3 convertases, thus blocking the development of C’ attack complexes on nonforeign cells. It is known that viruses and bacteria also utilize multiple SCR sites for infection.

Most MMP's are secreted as inactive proproteins which are activated when cleaved by extracellular proteinases. MMP7 degrades proteoglycans, fibronectin, elastin and casein and differs from most MMP family members in that it lacks a conserved C-terminal protein domain. C-raf Antibody: C-raf is the cellular homolog of viral raf gene (v-raf) and encodes a MAP kinase kinase kinase (MAP3K), which functions downstream of the Ras family of membrane associated GTPases. Once activated, C-raf phosphorylates and activates the protein kinases MEK1 and MEK2, which in turn phosphorylate and activate the serine/threonine specific protein kinases, ERK1 and ERK2. These activated ERKs are pleiotropic effectors of cell physiology and play an important role in the control of gene expression involved in the cell division cycle, apoptosis, cell differentiation and cell migration. Mutations in this gene are associated with Noonan syndrome 5 and LEOPARD syndrome 2.

Chymotrypsin C (CTRC) is a member of the peptidase S1 family. CTRC is a serum calcium-decreasing factor that has chymotrypsin-like protease activity. CTRC has broad substrate specificity, but prefers tocleave on the carboxyl side of hydrophobic residues. CTRC is expressed primarily in the pancreas, and is secreted into the digestive tract. CTRC plays a protective role in the pancreas by mitigating premature trypsinogen activation through degradation. It has been proposed that CTRC is a key regulator of digestive zymogen activation and is a physiological coactivator of digestive carboxypeptidases proCPA1 and proCPA2. The mutation of CTRC gene encodes the digestive enzyme CTRC contribute to the development of pancreatitis.

Interleukin-16 (IL-16) is a CD8+ T cell-derived cytokine that induces chemotaxis of CD4+ T cells and CD4+ monocytes and eosinophils. Analysis by gel filtration suggests that, under physiological conditions, human IL-16 exists predominantly as a noncovalently linked multimer, but that some IL-16 may exist as a monomer. However, only the multimeric form appears to possess chemotactic activity, suggesting that receptor cross-linking may be required for activity. IL-16 also induces expression of IL-2 receptor (IL-2R) and MHC class II molecules on CD4+ T cells. Human and murine IL-16 show significant cross-species reactivity.

The peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma coactivator 1-alpha (PPARGC1A), also known as LEM-6, is a transcriptional coactivator that regulates the genes involved in energy metabolism. Platelet-Activating Factor Acetylhydrolase (PAFAH) is a secreted enzyme which belongs to the AB hydrolase superfamily and Lipase family and catalyzes the degradation of platelet-activating factor to biologically inactive products. PAFAH is produced by inflammatory cells and hydrolyzes oxidised phospholipids in LDL. PAFAH has been implicated in the development of atherosclerosis and has also been identified as a marker for cardiac disease. PAFAH might have a major physiologic effect in the presence of inflammatory bodily responses. PAFAH alters the action of PAF by hydrolyzing the sn-2 ester bond to yield the biologically inactive lyso-PAF. PAFAH has specificity for substrates with a short residue at the sn-2 position.
