Arachidonoyl amides of both amino acids and neurotransmitters such as dopamine have been previously reported in the literature.
(1)N-Arachidonoyl-L-serine (ARA-S) is one such recently isolated endocannabinoid with an unusual activity profile. ARA-S does not bind to central cannabinoid (CB1) and peripheral cannabinoid (CB2) receptors or vanilloid receptor 1 (VR1). Like cannabidiol, ARA-S (5 mg/kg) antagonizes the hypotensive effects of a 10 mg/kg IV bolus of abnormal cannabidiol (Abn-CBD) in an anesthetized rat blood pressure model. (2)However, similar to Abn-CBD, ARA-S relaxes isolated rat mesenteric arteries and abdominal aorta as well as increases phosphorylation of Akt and mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) in HUVEC. (3)The precise mechanisms of action by ARA-S and Abn-DBD in various vascular preparations appears to be different and requires further investigation.

Nestin is a member of the class IV intermediate filament protein family which is expressed in neuronal stem cells. The molecular weight of human Nestin as determined by SDS-PAGE mobility is about 240kDa. However the real molecular weight is considerably less than this, at 177kDa, the disparity being likely due to the highly charged region of the C-terminal segment. Nestin is relatively poorly conserved in protein sequence across species boundaries, so that the mouse and human proteins have an overall identity of only 62%. As a result antibodies to the human protein often fail to recognize the rodent homologue and vice versa. However this antibody stains both rodent and human Nestin. Antibodies to Nestin are widely used to identify neural stem cells.

Recognizes an N-glycosylated glycoprotein of 120 kDa with intra-chain disulfide bonds, identified as CD50 or ICAM-3 (WS: IV & V). Its epitope localizes in the D2 extracellular domain and is resistant to neuraminidase and proteases. CD50 is the major ligand for LFA-1 (CD11a/CD18) and may have signalling role to increase adhesion. It is expressed on thymocytes and T lymphocytes and is resistant to treatment with phosphatidylinositol (PI) phospholipase C. This MAb inhibits primary mixed lymphocyte culture (MLC) but not secondary MLC, cytotoxicity or proliferation induced by mitogens. It blocks binding of NK1-L16 stimulated T cells to L cells expressing CD50. This MAb is excellent for staining of formalin/paraffin tissues.

ApoL-V (apolipoprotein L-V), also known as APOL5, is a 433 amino acid protein that localizes to the cytoplasm and belongs to the apolipoprotein L family. Expressed in a variety of tissues including testis, stomach, uterus and skeletal muscle, apoL-V is thought to affect the movement of lipids in the cytoplasm and may allow the binding of lipids to organelles. Like other members of the apolipoprotein L family, apoL-V is thought to be involved in the development of schizophrenia.

Biliverdin reductase A (BLVRA), also designated biliverdin-IX Alpha-reductase, belongs to the GFO/iIDH/MocA family and the biliverdin reductase subfamily. The gene that encodes this cytoplasmic protein maps to chromosome 7p14-cen. BLVRA reduces biliverdin IX (the methene bridge of the open tetrapyrrole) to bilirubin with the concomitant oxidation of an NADH or NADPH cofactor (bilirubin + NADP+ = biliverdin + NADPH). BLVRA is expressed primarily in liver.

C19orf46 participates in the establishment of secretory epithelial morphology by inducing kinesin-dependent apical migration of the centrosome and Golgi apparatus as well as basal localisation of the nucleus. C19orf46 interacts with UKHC and KCL1, and exists as two alternatively spliced isoforms. C19orf46 contains a KASH domain, which consists of a transmembrane motif, mediates nuclear envelope targeting and binds to the SUN domain of SUN1 and SUN2. C19orf46 is encoded by a gene located on human chromosome 19, which consists of approximately 63 million bases and makes up over 2% of human genomic DNA.
