Expression of TMEM16A (DOG1) protein is elevated in the gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST’s), c-kit signaling-driven mesenchymal tumors of the GI tract. It is rarely expressed in other soft tissue tumors, which, due to appearance, may be difficult to diagnose. Immunoreactivity for DOG11 has been reported in 97,8 percent of scorable GIST’s, including all c-kit negative GIST’s. Overexpression has been suggested to aid in the identification of GISTs, including Platelet-Derived Growth Factor Receptor Alpha (PDGFR alpha) mutants that fail to express c-kit antigen. The overall sensitivity of TMEM16A and c-kit in GIST’s is nearly identical: 94,4% vs. 94,7%.

ST3gal6 Antibody: Sialyltransferases catalyze the transfer of sialic acid from cytidine 5-prime monophospho-N-acetylneuraminic acid (CMP-NeuAc) to terminal positions of glycoprotein and glycolipid carbohydrate groups. Terminal NeuAc residues are key determinants of carbohydrate structures, such as the sialyl-Lewis X determinants, and are widely distributed in many cell types. However, cancer cells often express more heavily sialylated glycans on their cell surface and this feature sometimes correlates with invasiveness. In contrast, expression of ST3gal6, a member of the sialyltransferase family that sialylates type II lactosamine structures on glycoproteins and glycolipids, was found to be significantly decreased by hypermethylation of the gene in gastrointestinal cancer. At least three isoforms of ST3gal6 are known to exist.

This protein shows homology to replication factor C family proteins, and is conserved from E. coli to human. Studies in yeast suggest that this gene may influence the aging process. CD48 antigen, also known as B-lymphocyte activation marker BLAST-1, BCM1 surface antigen, Leukocyte antigen MEM-102, TCT.1, CD48, BCM1,and BLAST1, CD48 contains one Ig-like C2-type domain and one Ig-like V-type domain, but does not have a transmembrane domain, however, but is held at the cell surface by a GPI anchor via a C-terminal domain which maybe cleaved to yield a soluble form of the receptor. CD48 may facilitate interaction between activated lymphocytes and be involved in regulating T-cell activation. CD48 plays a vital role as an environmental sensor for regulating progenitor cell numbers and inhibiting tumor development. It is suggested that the anti-CD48 mAb has the potential to become an effective therapeutic mAb against multiple myeloma.

EPAC1 Antibody: EPAC1, also known as Rap guanine nuclear exchange factor 3 and cAMPGEF-I, is widely expressed but most prominently in brain, heart, kidney, pancreas, spleen, ovary, thyroid and spinal cord. EPAC1 is a cAMP-binding protein with intrinsic guanine nuclear exchange factor activity that couples cAMP production to the activation of Rap, a GTPase belonging to the Ras family. This activation of Rap influences numerous cellular processes such as integrin-mediated cell adhesion, vascular endothelial barrier formation, and cardiac myocyte gap junction formation. Recently, EPAC1 has been suggested to also be involved in the cAMP-dependent regulation of ion channel formation, intracellular Ca++ signalling, ion transporter activity, and exocytosis.
