PRDX5 is a widely expressed mitochondrial antioxidant enzyme that reduces hydrogen peroxide, alkyl hydroperoxides, and peroxynitrite. In human cells, this enzyme is present in the cytosol, mitochondria, peroxisomes, and nucleus.

The 1A8 monoclonal antibody specifically reacts with the 21 to 25 kDa glycophosphatidylinositol-anchored protein known as Ly-6G, expressed by the granulocytes from the bone marrow and periphery neutrophils. Ly-6G and Ly-6C form the Granulocyte Receptor-1 antigen (GR-1). The binding of the 1A8 antibody to the Ly-6G can be blocked by another antibody, RB6-8C5, which also recognizes Ly-6C. While 1A8 is specific for only Ly-6G, RB6-8C5 also binds to Ly-6C.

Interleukin-15 (IL-15) has a broad spectrum of biological activities. It is crucial for the development, proliferation, survival and differentiation of multiple cells from both innate and adaptive immune systems. IL-15 up-regulation has a central role in the development of several autoimmune or chronic inflammatory disorders. Targeting IL-15 or its receptor may have a valuable impact on the treatment of immune-mediated diseases. IL-15 participates in the development of important immune antitumour mechanisms. It activates CD8(+) T cells, natural killer (NK) cells, NK T cells, and can promote the formation of antitumour antibodies. IL-15 can also protect T effector cells from the action of T regulatory cells and reverse tolerance to tumour-associated antigens. In pre-clinical studies IL-15 has been found to demonstrate potentiated antitumour effects following pre-association with IL-15Ralpha, or when used in combination with chemotherapy, adoptive therapy, monoclonal antibodies, and tumour vaccines.
Application: Useful for immunofluorescent staining and flow cytometric analysis to identify and enumerate IL-15Ralpha expressing cells within mixed cell populations.

Interleukin-1 (IL-1) designates two proteins, IL-1 alpha and IL-1 beta , which are the products of distinct genes, but recognize the same cell surface receptors. IL-1 alpha and IL-1 beta are structurally related polypeptides that show approximately 25% homology at the amino acid level. Both proteins are produced by a wide variety of cells in response to stimuli such as those produced by inflammatory agents, infections, or microbial endotoxins. The proteins are synthesized as 31 kDa precursors that are subsequently cleaved into proteins with molecular weights of approximately 17.5 kDa. The specific protease responsible for the processing of IL-1 beta , designated interleukin 1 beta -converting enzyme (ICE), has been described. Mature human and mouse IL-1 beta share approximately 75% amino acid sequence identity and human IL-1 beta has been found to be active on murine cell lines.
