Macrophage Inflammatory Protein 1 alpha and MIP1 beta, two closely related but distinct proteins, were originally co-purified from medium conditioned by a LPS-stimulated murine macrophage cell line. Mature mouse MIP1 alpha shares approximately 77% and 70% amino acid identity with human MIP1 alpha and mouse MIP1 beta, respectively. MIP1 proteins are expressed primarily in T cells, B cells, and monocytes after antigen or mitogen stimulation.

SYNPO Antibody: SYNPO, also known as synaptopodin, is an actin-associated protein in telencephalic dendrites and renal podocytes. SYNPO is tightly associated with the dendritic spine apparatus, and mice lacking the SYNPO gene lack the apparatus. These SYNPO-null mice also demonstrate an impaired ability to express long-term potentiation as well as deficits in spatial memory tasks, indicating that SYNPO is involved in the regulation of synaptic plasticity. Recent studies suggest that SYNPO is linked to neuronal calcium stores and plays a role in the calcium store-associated ability of neurons to undergo long-term plasticity.

Reacts with human CD61, also called Integrin beta 3 (GPIIIa, vitronectin receptor beta chain). It associates with the alphaV-chain (CD51) to form vitronectin receptor, or with the alphaIIb-chain (CD41) to form the GpIIb/GpIIIa complex (CD41/CD61). The CD41/CD61 complex appears early in megakaryocyte maturation. The activated CD41/CD61 complex is a receptor for von Willebrand factor, soluble fibrinogen, fibronectin, vitronectin and thrombospondin. It plays a central role in platelet activation and aggregation. The CD51/CD61 is implicated in tumor metastasis and adenoviral infection. The antibody detects platelets in smears of blood and bone marrow, as well as megakaryocytes in frozen sections and cell smears. The antibody is useful for classification of megakaryoblastic leukemia.

The latter is a well characterized endonuclease that catalyzes DNA hydrolysis in the absence of divalent cations at acidic pH. Unlike DNase II which is ubiquitously expressed, expression of this protein is restricted to the salivary gland and lungs. The protein encoded by this gene shares considerable sequence similarity to, and is structurally related to DNase II. The latter is a well characterized endonuclease that catalyzes DNA hydrolysis in the absence of divalent cations at acidic pH. Unlike DNase II which is ubiquitously expressed, expression of this gene product is restricted to the salivary gland and lungs. The gene has been localized to chromosome 1p22.3 adjacent (and in opposite orientation) to the uricase pseudogene. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described for this gene.

PICALM Antibody: PICALM, also known as the clathrin assembly lymphoid myeloid leukemia (CALM) protein, co-localizes with clathrin at clathrin-coated areas of the plasma membrane and in the Golgi area, and is thought to be an important component of the coated pit internalization machinery. Fusion proteins involving PICALM have been implicated in acute myeloid and T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia. PICALM is also expressed in neurons and is present at the synapse where it facilitates the endocytosis of the synaptic vesicle protein VAMP2. Heparin-binding growth factor 1 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the FGF1 gene. The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the fibroblast growth factor (FGF) family. FGF acidic is a potent growth factor for fibroblasts and endothelial cells. FGF acidic is involved in wound repair, angiogenesis, and development. FGF acidic is secreted from cells via an endoplasmic reticulum/Golgi independent mechanism. The ability of FGF acidic to bind to heparin sulfate is required for its ability to interact with FGF receptors and induce signaling. There are four distinct FGF receptors and each has multiple splice variants. FGF acidic binds with high affinity to many, but not all, FGFRs. Signaling cascades activated through FGF basic binding to FGFR include the ras-raf-MAPK, PLCγ/PKC, and PI3K/Akt pathways.
