This MAb cocktail recognizes all simple epithelia including glandular epithelium, for example thyroid, female breast, gastrointestinal tract, respiratory tract, and urogenital tract including transitional epithelium. All adenocarcinomas and most squamous carcinomas are positive but keratinizing squamous carcinomas are usually negative. This antibody is useful in demonstrating the presence of Paget cells; there is very little keratin 18 in the normal epidermis so only Paget cells are stained.Immunohistochemical staining with this MAb is indistinguishable from that obtained with monoclonal antibody 5D3.

NOB1P contains a PIN domain, which functions as a nuclease in nonsense-mediated mRNA decay and is required for pre-rRNA cleavage. NOB1P interacts with Rent2, which is involved in nonsense-mediated decay of mRNAs containing premature stop codons. Expressed in placenta, spleen, endothelial cells, liver and lung, NOB1P is essential for the synthesis of 40S ribosome subunits. Supression of the gene encoding NOB1P inhibits the processing of the 20S pre-rRNA to the mature 18S rRNA, therefore leading to accumulation of high levels of 20S pre-rRNA with degradation intermediates.

Amines, including those present on proteins, spontaneously react with glucose to make fructosamines in a reaction termed glycation. Fructosamine 3-kinase (FN3K), a 309-amino acid enzyme initially identified in erythrocytes, catalyzes the ATP-dependent phosphorylation of the third carbon on both D- and L-fructosamines, leading to their destabilization and eventually, their removal from the protein. FN3K is a monomer that is ubiquitously expressed in mammalian tissue and phosphorylates both low molecular mass and protein-bound fructosamines which are formed as a result of glycation of glucose with primary amines. FN3K protects proteins from the harmful effects of nonenzymatic glycation, and may also be involved in peptide repair and cell metabolism. FN3KRP (fructosamine-3-kinase-related protein) is a 309 amino acid protein that is expressed in erythrocytes, bone marrow, spleen, brain and kidney and belongs to the fructosamine kinase family. FN3KRP functions to phosphorylate psicoamines and ribulosamines on the third carbon of their sugar moiety, thereby leading to the deglycation of the target amines.
