Prothiofos ist ein nicht-systemisches Insektizid und gehört zur Gruppe der Organophosphate. Es ist ein Acetylcholinesterase (AChE)-Hemmer, der Übererregung verursacht und die Funktion des Nervensystems beeinträchtigt. Prothiofos wird durch Kontakt und Einnahme aktiviert und wird zur Bekämpfung von Raupen, <i>Pseudococcus spp</i>. Thripsen, Maikäferlarven, Eulenfaltern usw. in Gemüse, Obst, Mais, Zuckerrohr, Zuckerrüben, Tee, Tabak und Zierpflanzen eingesetzt. Nach der Durchführungsverordnung (EU) Nr. 2076/2002 der Kommission vom 20. November 2002 ist Prothiofos gemäß der Verordnung (EG) Nr. 1107/2009 nicht zur Verwendung als Pflanzenschutzmittel in der Europäischen Union (EU) zugelassen. Für das Vorhandensein von Prothiofos in Produkten pflanzlichen und tierischen Ursprungs gilt jedoch gemäß Art. 18(1)(b) VO 396/2005 ein standardmäßiger Rückstandshöchstwert von 0,01 mg/kg.

The Drosophila atonal gene produces a protein with basic helix loop helix (bHLH) domains that plays an essential role in the development of the Drosophila nervous system. Mammalian atonal homolog 2 (MATH-2) is a helix-loop-helix (HLH) transcription factor that is structurally homologous to the product of Drosophila atonal gene. MATH-2 is a 337 amino acid protein with an atonal-related basic HLH domain. In mice, expression of MATH-2 takes place by embryonic day 11.5 and initially localizes to the wall of brain vesicles and in the spinal cord. It is expressed in the cortical plate and the mantle layer in the developing central nervous system, and is limited to the nervous system in adults. Adult mouse cerebrums produce a high level of MATH-2 RNA with lower levels in other neuronal tissues. Research studies suggest that MATH-2 may function as a trans-acting factor involved in the development and maintenance of the mammalian nervous system.

This antibody recognises a 67 kDa transmembrane protein, which is identified as CD5. The CD5 antigen is found on 95% of thymocytes and 72% of peripheral blood lymphocytes. In lymph nodes, the main reactivity is observed in T cell areas. antibody to CD5 is a pan T-cell marker that also reacts with a range of neoplastic B-cells, e.g. chronic lymphocytic leukemia/small lymphocytic lymphoma (CLL/SLL), mantle cell lymphoma, and a subset (~10%) of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma. CD5 aberrant expression is useful in making a diagnosis of mature T-cell neoplasms. CD5 antibody detection is diagnostic in CLL/SLL within a panel of other B-cell markers, especially one that includes anti-CD23. CD5 antibody is also very useful in differentiating among mature small lymphoid cell malignancies. In addition, antibody to CD5 can be used in distinguishing thymic carcinoma (+) from thymoma (-). CD5 antibody does not react with granulocytes or monocytes.
